Re: new So OR club start

Loren Snyder

Jeff,

As July and August get eaten up quickly, we will all be busy working for the start of the fall season. We'll talk more regarding dates and shows. It will be here before we are ready I know that.

I feel it is important for the West coast to show the rest of the country that we can razzle dazzle with the best of them. I'm glad that we can do some joining of forces to put on better shows.

We'll be in touch regarding all developments. If you guys do come up this way, we will plan for plenty of space.
Loren

Hey Loren,

There is a Great Western Train show in Oct(?) so maybe we can take you up on
that So OR Club your starting up with Joe. Maybe we can sign a petition for
the management girls: "you build it, we'll buy it".

We're all working on new modules for the San Jose show in Sept (24-25) so we
might be able to bring some up there, space available of course.

Randy and Fred,

The last name is Sutfin and I do have their email address if you need it.
They are still on the road so unreachable unless Terry checks in with his
computer for any emails.

When I first met Helen, she was, (you guessed it), cutting out paper
models
at a GATS show in Portland, Oregon. You can see a picture of me watching
her that time in the NWPZS photo section. You might say that Helen is a
"Master Cutup"

Terry wrote to me several days ago reminding me they wouldn't be back home
in time for the next meeting of CZM in Portland on the 24th. Guess I'll
have to listen twice as hard and report back to Terry.

CZM is just now getting our modules going (construction) and we have until
Sept 17 to get our act together for our first ever presentation of CZM
club
activities.

Speaking of activities, Joe D'Amato and I are going ahead and putting
effort
into forming SOZ, (Southern Oregon Z). At least that is what I'll call it
until a club is officially organized and we have enough members to argue,
er, I mean discuss an official name for our club. No matter the name, our
first outing will be at the Thanksgiving train show here in Medford.
Rumor
has it that BAZ will come up and join in the wildness, oops, I mean
activities. CZM may also send down some support from Portland.
Watch out folks, the West coast is alive and starting to stir !!! Now we
just need a club in Southern California and we have the entire West coast
covered.

Fred,

If you mean the woman sitting next to the Poorville and Debt City and next to the BYOZ layouts, that would be Helen Sutfin (or is it Sutphin?), Terry's wife and the planner/organizer extrordinaire who managed to get 55 Z scalers together for dinner saturday night when she was originally expecting about 15 of us. I think Terry is on the Z_Scale list if not here. Some of the Oregonians may have the Sutfins' e-mail address and I think their phone may be listed in ZTrack somewhere.

Speaking of card models, did you see Stan Jones work on the modules from Atlanta? Most were his own original designs.

I am looking for someone that may live local, (in Cincinnati) to put-me-up

Or someone with a SECOND bed in a hotel room, close by!

Brett is in camp and fianc¨¦' is working so it's ONLY me. :) or :( (r)

This is all based on the following:

Finishing TWO more shows in the NEXT 4 days!
(Don't ya just love to work on a holiday weekend.)

Originally it was going to be a drive to get there from Long Island, NY,
but with the cost of gas vs airfare, it became obvious that driving was not
worth the time/vs money (unless shared).
But if you are going/driving from the NY area, maybe that would work.

Father's Day and model railroading

Today was the first day of a two day show for model train layouts at a local
(huge) mall for Father's Day. There are layouts set up at the Mall entrance
in Lionel, HO, N and Z scale...and we are having a ball running trains on our
Z-Bend Track layout.

This was the first time for my set of six heavyweight passenger cars to run,
and they did look nice and ran well. I'm looking forward to show them off at
the NTS in a few weeks.

If you want to have fun, run trains. If you want to have a LOT of fun, run
them in public.

Bill K.

Re: NTS

randy smidt

Bill,

I saw the "final" design awhile ago. I think Rob posted it on the NTS list (last I checked, the old versions were there too).

As for adapter modules: the Richmond group is working on one, but I have been unable to get an update on it; Stan Jones is building/has built? one for jeff White's set-up from Atlanta; then there is the X from Houston, the T from Wisconsin and the T from DC (track down, still working on scenery). Rob built a transition for his new modules as well.

We tried to place the modules that were unknown quantities in positions in which they could be run standalone if neccessary. Hope we don't have to do that, but it's been difficult getting updates on progress.

Hi Bill,

I believe the latest and greatest is in the files section of the
NTS2005 group right here on Yahoo. Try this link:

I don't know if this is actually finalized, and Rob A. is out of the
country until June 20th, but you can e-mail him to find out. He said
he'd be checking e-mail on a regular basis.

That's why all of my stuff will be marked on the chassis of each piece

And I bet Rob Kluz has a big bag of brand new black bolster pins!

I have 7 FRS radios set for channel 14/subaudiable 14 that I'm bringing

Don't run out and buy a FRS/GRS radio unless you want to.

Mine will have silver and gold dots painted on them, just like my

Do you have YOUR stuff identified in some way?

Re: Module wiring

When I asked about communications wiring, I used the wrong words. I should have asked about the lighting circuit. Bill answered me and I have added the lighting circuit to one of our modules. Originally I wired for local use only--no lighting then noticed in Bill's wiring harness the lighting circuit. Thus the question. Five of our modules are now wired with three circuits. One remains an unknown quantity. Jim
