Re: Is anyone maintaining the bolster pin color chart yet?

Rob, Is there an opening for the Orange/Orange bolster pins color
chart? If not, I would like to occupy that space!!!!!

I have Michael Hilliard's I.D. decals on all of the Golden ~ Blackhawk & Central City's locos and much of the rolling stock I take to shows.
They are nicely made and easy to work with.

Don't forget that Michael Hilliard also started a color scheme for
decals that could be applied to the car(s) for identification. It had
the Railroads Monica in letters plus the owner's initials plus a 5 or
6 color scheme. Possibly you could get all of this wrapped together.
Michael's allows for far more combinations (like over 3,000 to
15,000+) if there were five or six 5-colored colored rectangles.
Probably not of importance for a tiny group like a local group, but if
the members get mixed up into different groups or go to national shows
then it does become an important factor] Find any message of mine on
ZCentral and you can see what one looks like.

I took a careful look at Michael's decals. You can get 6.25 x 10
(with 29 zeros) unique combinations. That takes care of Z and in fact
probably the whole universe. Joe should be dreamy eyed if only
one-ten thousandth of this many bought Z

I'm all for it. Cliff did the second so its up to Randy. I've been using a simple green on white dot on my bolster pins but we haven't been running outside of our club yet.

Rob, you can just custom laser name the bottom of your cars !

Re: Domes Train Show Pictures

The Z-Bend modude looks very impressive!

Domes Train Show Pictures

Hi

I just put up the pictures on my website of the Domes Train Show in
Wisconsin, WI. It is their 1st all scale show. All the scale where
shown and in the huge Show Dome they had a G Scale Garden Layout. There
was even a Z Scale layout that used the Z Bend Standards. To see the
pictures go to my site at:

I just put up the pictures on my website of the Mad City Train Show in
Madison, WI. It is their 40th annual show. There were good examples of
all the scales from Z to G and even some Narrow Gauge of some of these
scales were shown in whole layouts and modules. It was a very well
rounded show and had something for everyone. The Wiz Kidz were there
with their Z scale layout. Along with a lot of dealers, artists,
historical societies and some manufacturers like GCLaser with their new
products. To see the pictures go to my site at:

Re: What DCC system do you folks tend to use?

Jeff Merrill

The Bay Area Z Cooperative, aka The BAZ BoyZ (and GirlZ) uses the NCE ProCab 5 amp system with EB3 circuit breakers at strategic points (turnouts, module sections, etc.). We are entirely wireless based Cabs, supplying our own. I own the bulk of the modules, 1 of which is the Wye to tie 3 legs together and houses the ProCab hardware and wireless base station. We have enouhg modules to fill a 20x30 area and easily run this off of the one central wireless base.

One member already has one wireless Cab and another non-wireless.
One member recently purchased his own ProCab (all in one) for his home layout. He can either plug it in as a non-wireless or you can now upgrade them to wireless (only for ProCab based use, not as wireless on the basic PowerCab hardware).

Hope that helps.

I am prepping four modules to be used at the Detroit NMRA National Convention, Plan on
wiring the modules for DCC. Currently have the options to use Digitrax system or a North
Coast system. If I settle on Digitrax, the system cam be set up as wireless or set up as NCE
then it is Cab based (due to the available hardware I have on hand). Both systems will be set
up to provide 10 volts to the rail. When you guys set up for shows that use DCC which
system do you tend to use? Is there a preference? Do you provide the throttles or does
everyone bring their own?

Thanks in advanced

Stu

An alternative to the circuit board is to use a 6 or 8 circuit terminal block.
