Re: AZL Theft
Hate to hear this news this morning. These items will end up in the trash, as these people do not know what they stole.

AZL Theft
Hans Riddervold, one of the owner's of AZL, has asked that I pass the word
along. Hans had a suitcase stolen from his rent-a-car in Los Angeles. A number of AZL items were in the suitcase including a number of unreleased products. The list of stolen items includes: GP30s: 2 x SP (with black fuel tanks) 1 x SSW 1 x UP 1 x DRGW 2 x WC 2 x NYC 2 x GN Bay Window Cabooses: CSX WC Milwaukee NS UP RI Autoracks (6 units) Quite a few (probably 6 singles) 1x Illinois Central SD70M Please keep an eye on auction sites for these items. Also, for our train friends in LA, watch for individuals trying to sell these trains. Again, they should be easy to spot since most have never been released and are basically one-of-a-kind products at the moment. Thank you for your help! Rob Kluz Ztrack Magazine Ltd. I you're going to be at NTS next month, don't forget to bring your Z Scale turnout jigs, since most haven't seen them, and there's going to be a big Z-Bend layout there. -James --- In Z-Bend_Track@..., Andy Reichert <andy_r@...> wrote:

If you are more interested in the flexibility and appearance of handlaying Z track and/or Z turnouts in lots of prototypical sizes, don't forget the "Stores" site :)

I do have more info on the track like your suggesting just click on the details link or the picture of the item your more interested in. It will take to another page with more info like measurements, how many pieces etc. and a bigger picture. All the items on my site are like this and I try to put up as much info as I know of on this detail page. The site is set up this way so when your looking for something you don't have to see all the info on other items your not looking for.I also put up as much protype info as I have on this page, which can be helpful when deciding if you want to buy it or not. Hope this helps Kevin Hobby Crafts N More www.hobbycraftsnmore.com --- In Z-Bend_Track@..., thomas cipelle <thomasc600@...> wrote:

Re: ROKUHAN
Ted, in a nut shell far more track section choices than MTL but looks quite different. Code 63 rail but thin head like MTL. Turnout solenoids are under the turnouts. More radii, *9* in total: (145 like m?rklin, etc) Sorta more like a m?rklin competitor, with the fake roadbed. Turnouts run REALLY good, very reliable electrical and mechanical running on every loco we have put thru it.

others. Tie spacing is a bit wider than MTL's sectional. Remote turnouts have the motor inside the mechanism and not on the side as in MTL. MTL lost their manufacturer for their track and is getting a new manufacturer very soon in China. Loren -------Original Message-------

Modular Layouts Needed For Central Coast Railroad Festival (Calif.)
The 2011 Central Coast Railroad Festival in San Luis Obispo, CA, again will feature free, self-guided tours of model railroads, including modular railroads, as part of the festival activities. I have been asked by Festival Director Curtis Reinhardt to organize this year's tour program as I did last year. The festival will take place on October 6th through the 10th.
While five modular layouts from three groups were featured on last year's tour, we would like to have even more modular railroads on this year's program. Plans are being made to secure additional venues for modular club layouts in the greater San Luis Obispo area. If your modular railroad group is interested in participating or has any questions before committing to the tour, please contact me. My contact information is below. Thank you for your assistance. Bob Chaparro Moderator Model Railroads Of Southern California Hemet, CA chiefbobbb@... Additional Information: The Central Coast Railroad Festival is a broad based festival which focuses on railroading of many types with an eye towards the beauty of the Central Coast of California. The Festival is designed to attract the attention of avid and casual rail fans as well as curious folks from across the Western United States. The Festival features historical, educational and recreational events. Model railroad activities also are included. Website: Photos From Last Year's Tour (8 Pages): |

NTS2011 - March Update
Attention all Z Scalers. FIVE months until NTS. In approximately ONE month, NTS will inform us about our layout space. Then we can either accept what they give us (meaning less than I asked for) or fight to get back to some respectable level. THEN, I can work on sorta finalizing 2 layout options (plan A and B - and nothing is final until we setup as there are always obstacles, unplanned events etc.).
NOTE: I STILL have NOT received pictures of Jerry Craig's modules. I have seen others and I know a lot of you, especially the ZoCal guys, are cranking out more modules. We VERY likely will NOT be able to fit them all in, HOWEVER, it will give us greater flexibility. Just make sure the have ABSOLUTELY been "show" tested which means you have actually run dozens of times across them and the wiring validated. We SERIOUSLY need at least another 4-way 'cross' or at least a Tee - Don ;) For DCC users, the BAZ BoyZ modules will be in the middle-ish and supply up to 5 Amps. However, mainlines are normally limited to 1-2 Amps (programmable) to avoid serious damage do to the inevitable unattended trains. There are almost no modules with turnouts so we should have the least of an issue for protection EXCEPT for Rob Ray's Pair-o-Dice module and Dave Lancaster's End module. Rob's module will be isolated an locally protected so in case of any derailments in the turnouts, we don't take down 36' of mainline with other trains running on it. Dave Lancaster also has a 5 Amp Power Pro system that can be isolated into a Booster if needed but either way, he will absolutely need to isolate his module from the mainline and, provide 4 circuit breakers to protect the 2 mains and all the parallel tracks. We CANNOT have people putting trains on the active powered tracks and/or moving rolling stock or locos 'accidentally' onto the mains and taking down 78' of mainline ! This is going to be SOooooo much fun ! Jeff M SF Bay Area Z |
