Got my cables done
I made six sets of cables for my modules and was suprised on how well it went together with the exception on how long it took. Does anyone have a source for the printed circuit board that is used in

Re: Im back to building my zbend modules
Stu, the emergency circuit is rarely used. I think only one group has actually used it. It was envisioned for very large layouts. Not sure about the appendix, but i'll double-check with Rob as well.

Re: Imp back to building my Z-Bend modules
They are only used for DCC installations, connecting all the modules in series, primarily for large shows. Normally closed switches are connected in series so that any one button can shut down they

Im back to building my zbend modules
After a few months off due to work, I now have some free time to work on my modules. Started to build the wire harnesses for the electrical and came across a small problem. The zbend manual states

Re: Wire harness help
Robin, The extension cord someone must have referenced is likely a computer parallel printer port cable which is 25 pins. However, they are too small of a conductor for the power feeds, often only 30

Re: Wire harness help
Hi Robin and all, We had a Tri-State Z Scalers meet today and I did a demonstration of how to install the assembled cables. I assembled 6 sets this week for our local group and 4 kits bagged up.

Re: Wire harness help
Michael, Where is the list of items for the harnesses posted? Is it in a file on this forum? Another question: Some one mentioned that an option would be to buy an "extension cord" with the pin wiring

Re: Wire harness help
Sounds fine. You figured out the power tap too :) Pin 20-21 are for the EMO, designed for shows but more for NTS. Since we use DCC, we have the remote EMO. Wiring specs that we use are: Inner, Outer

I posted the parts list, prices, etc. for All Electronics <http://allellectronics.com/> , a supplier Bill K. used. For a end module, instead of the single male/female connector, you could just use

Re: Wire harness help
There are detailed instructions available beyond the 2004 manual. They were posted with the cable kits, but luckily I printed them out before they were taken off the net. I'd be happy to snail-mail

Re: Wire harness help
So far so good on the ones I'm cranking out. Do we follow the wiring exactly as laid out in the Z-Bend_Track_Manual_2004.pdf document, or are there any variations I should be aware of when wiring up

Re: Wire harness help
The D 25 pin connectors are about $0.60 each at the surplus store: Halted Specialties in Santa Clara (and 2 other local regional locations but SC has the largest inventory). All new. Connectors:

Re: Wire harness help
Wish me luck--I bought 8 female, 8 male DB25 wire-wrap plugs from HSC this past weekend, and will be upstairs tonight wiring them into cables for the modules. Hopefully I'll have some still unburned

Re: Wire harness help
I'm assuming that no one is going to make these harnesses for us. Putting them together is our responsibility. I just would appreciate some help in getting some parts to do it with. It looks like we

Re: Wire harness help
MIchael, I need some harness kits also if it isn't too late. I believe Brad says that I actually need 1 1/2 straight through kits per T module and I have two T's in the making. I also need an end
