Re: Whispers in the Dark - Scheherazade, Callum
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý(Scheherezade, others) Her mind was all over the place. What she saw when she touched Callum. What she felt...Maybe it was a mistake coming here. Maybe she should just sell this. Maybe she... A scream of loud piercing pain erupted from Sam from the sudden icy scalding of the water on her skin. Scheherazade jumped back from the pain so fast that she slipped and felt back against the wall sliding to the floor.?Sam winced. The chilly liquid taking her breathe away and causing her chest to hurt.? She struggled to breathe from the cold chill that surrounded her in the little box she was trapped in.?She tried to move...tried to get out...but she was just so cold. And going through the water to get out was not an option. Pulling her knees to her chest. Sam shivered.? And then she heard the voice...the voice that was full of pain and hurt. Looking up, she saw a shadowy figure through the frosted glass. Just staring...watching... (Branson) Branson heard the scream coming from Sam's room and rushed up the stairs, his bare feet slapping on the cold spiraling steps. Bursting into her room, he didn't see her but the sound of rushing water was coming from the adjoining bathroom.? There he found her huddled in a corner in the glass-enclosed shower, as far away from the watery spray as she could manage.? The eerie cold in the bathroom immediately hit him but he shrugged it off and stepped through it, to inside the shower where to his shock the water was even colder still. "Jesus, Sam," he muttered, trying to shut the icy spray off.? The control knobs however refused to budge.? Gathering Sam up in his arms, he carried her bodily out of the shower and back into the bedroom, grabbing a couple of towels along the way.? He set her on the bed and began rubbing her all over with the towels, then just decided to heck with it and pulled the covers off the bed and draped them around her for warmth. "Are you okay, Sam?" Branson asked, visibly worried.? He put his arms around her, trying to rub some warmth back into her through the bedding.? He glanced back at the shower where the water was still running at full faucet. "I think you need to get a decent plumber out here to check this place over.? I think your pipes are seriously out of whack."? (Jaimie) Jaimie had sensed the scream more than heard it.? And also sensed that Kirstene had come down from her tower, which made him hesitate.? Her rage and torment were like an ache that penetrated straight through the walls, but he instinctively knew where she had gone. The young ghost quickly apparated into Scheherezade's room where he found the American Branson there ahead of him, tending to a soaked Scheherezade he'd wrapped up on the bed.? The water in the shower was still running.? And _she_ was there as well.? He willed himself to be unseen to Branson as he slipped into the bathroom.?? "M'lady Kirstene, please stoap," Jaimie pleaded. "Ah ken ye'r crabbit 'n' ye'r hurting, bit hurting Mistress Scheherezade wull nae hulp yer pain.? Ye ken it wilnae.? It ne'er haes.? Please, ah beg ye tae halt 'n' lea her be." Tag - Scheherezade, others Translation of Jaimie-speak:? "M'lady Kirstene, please stop.? I know you're angry and you're hurting, but hurting Mistress Scheherezade will not help your pain.? You know it won't.? It never has.? Please, I beg you to stop and leave her be." |
Re: High Moon Tales. Tales of the Wicked West.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý[Sicilien] ? The bounty hunter tied his scarf around his nose and mouth, nodding to Chase as a thanks for the suggestion.? Though it wasn't perfect, at least a good amount of the smell was staved off, though there was no blocking the scent of death that permeated the air so easily.? Whoever this wendigo, this manikin was, knew that even if she could not see them, that she would be able to drive them on one way or another.? However, they were all getting tired and not having had any single night's worth of rest since the bar scene was beginning to take a toll on all of them, least of all him.? So maybe it was desperation or something else, but when Sicilien looked in the direction that Flynn was pointing to, he was starting to see the likes of a crevice, a cave perhaps, coming up a bit ways away. ? "I think...that's a cave, or something!? We're getting close, but we need to hurry," he announced, squinting his eyes.? They were getting close, wanting to increase the pace of their horses.? They were trotting at best, to make sure that Flynn would not fall off, but the man was tied down.? Surely they could at least level up to a canter?? Perhaps he was being too impatient? Woe betide the man who didn't plan ahead and rushed forward only to be struck down at the end.? There seemed to be a small, dusty path that led maybe 20, 30 feet up from the ground to this mountainside cavity.? Whether it was a deep cave or not is yet to be seen.? Focusing his covered eye, Sicilien studied the auras the light up like lamps in the distance.? Nothing except for some nocturnal predators milling about, but no undead.? Nothing that they couldn't handle to clear the area anyway.? "Could be our safe haven.? Follow me, i see a path going up." ? With that, he led the troupe do the edges of this trail, making sure that they were all keeping up, as they started the short climb up. ? Etienne ? Etienne was quiet, watching, learning, feeling, contemplating...how much of herself she show...some...most... all or should she keep her truth close to her vest. Much like she had done every day of her life since that fateful day when she finally go away...took her chance at freedom. ? It was a feeling she always warred with... how much of herself to reveal. She remember many many lifetimes ago when they were finally able to work through their bullshit. When she finally felt comfortable with Sicilien enough to know he would not hurt her or use her she almost revealed her true self to him...almost. ? Thank god she hadn¡¯t. The original pain almost killed her. He would have made it ten time worst had he known the truth. She thought as a tear slipped from her eyes at the memory of their last night together. ? Etienne blinked as she came back to the present her mind somewhat locking on first Flynn and then Sicilien comment. A cave she thought...she didn¡¯t feel comfortable going into a cave. It could trap them with no way out. But everyone else seemed comfortable with it. And since she had decided in her moment of quiet contemplation to keep her cards to her vest, she acquiesced and followed. ? ? (Chase) Chase shifted a bit, there was some nervousness to him, but only because he didn¡¯t expect the man to move suddenly and just as suddenly he was gone again but he followed the direction his hackles were there as he could feel if not sniff the area, he wasn¡¯t able to smell much of anything with that stench surrounding them.? He hated that particular heightened sense, it gave him some indication but other times it threatened to overwhelm him.? He held on to the one called Flynn since he was their cover and energy source there of his strength allowed him to easily hold on to the man. He found himself glancing toward Etienne, he saw her but said nothing, something was on her mind too, he wasn¡¯t sure what but he knew there truly was more to her than met the eye, that was for sure.? It was not the time and probably not his business unless it would keep them alive. Maybe it took time¡but that was obviously not a luxury they had. (Callie Carson) They waited for what seemed like an eternity, the noise of the shuffling herd and the stench from the rotting corpses filling their little magical bubble as they waited for the threat to pass. Finally, the smell and the noise dissipated. The worst had passed. When they were in the clear, Callie let out a sharp exhale and she looked around. "They've passed," she whispered, still uncertain if she should speak loudly or not. "We should make camp here, rest and then move on when everyone is stronger." Callie ascertained the interest in her suggestion, looking toward the others to gauge their reactions... (Flynn)? "Rest... inside the cave," Flynn murmured, eyes closed as he sat slumped against Chase.? "I can... drop the masking illusion... and then maybe recharge some."? Speaking was evidently requiring the pookah considerable effort now, each word seeming to drain him a bit further.? "The cave gives us... a way to escape... if they find us again.? It goes under... all the way to... the Crossing." "Callie," he said, eyes remaining closed as he turned his head towards her. "Need your help.? Make... make me dream... something..." The last of his energy seemed to ebb away and the circle of illusion around the group began to fade.? "Anything..." Tag - Callie, Flynn, Sicilien, Etienne, Charity (jumping in periodically), Chase |
Re: What Lies in the Heart. Mikayla/The Dragon
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý- Mikayla - ¡°He has had a bad dream.¡± Mikayla said to Angus. Without a word slow measured steps brought her to The Dragon. As she moved to him, she grabbed a blanket that was draped across the back of a chair. Her own dream long since forgotten in his distress. She knelt and hugged him. ¡°I am sorry you had such a fright.¡±? Holding him close around the neck, she stroke his scales. ¡°I will stay with you tonight.¡± She said coming to?stepped up, upon the dais. ¡°And tomorrow you should go out to get some air while Angus and I tidy your room,¡± she said matter-of-factly. ¡°Good Night, Angus,¡± Mikayla said with a soft smile. She?snuggled into his side and draped the blanket over them both. She wrapped her arm over him large talon and rested in the crook of his arms. Once settle she began to hum a soft familiar tune. It was soft soothing tune?that had been sung to her by her mother and by her grandmother to her mother.? (The Dragon, Angus) The Dragon slept, an untroubled sleep for once, his dreams permeated by an unfamiliar melody.? His breathing was deep and steady, sending a low rumble through the stone of the marble dais and into the stone walls of the room.? A warm presence graced his side and he unconsciously made an effort to not disturb it. Morning came and he awoke, the early light of sunrise beginning to stream in through the chamber's sole window.? Lifting his head slightly, The Dragon surveyed the wrecked furniture strewn about the room, wincing at the memory.? But he stayed quiet and still, not wanting to wake the girl who still? slept at his side. Who had stayed there all night, with only a blanket for protection.? He pondered this, and the bits and pieces he could recall of his dreams - were they dreams? - of the night before. Tag - Mikayla |
Re: Port Vega: End of the Beginning. (Gen, Kites, Mia, NPCs, next.)
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý(OOC - my post seems to have disappeared into the ether - trying again) (Kites) ? It felt like Kites had fallen asleep and was dreaming, the scenes flashing before his eyes an amalgamation of the whole day.? None of it made sense.? People, places, voices were all mixed up, jumbled and yet melding together, leaving the winged youth in a panic and cold sweats when he finally woke up with a startle.? It took him a couple of seconds to understand just what had happened and where he was, looking around as his heart beat rapidly against his rib cage.? When the realization that he was still in the facility hit him, Kites was both relieved and anguished at the same time, palming his face as he brushed his hair out of his face.? He slid to the edge of the bed, elbows on knees, leaning his forehead against his fists as he tried to gained some semblance of control over the tumultuous feelings that churned inside. ? After what felt like hours, but was probably just minutes, Kites stood up and crossing his arms has surveyed the room.? Promises, promises, but after what happened with Gen as well the conversation with Chord, what was there to keep him from leaving anymore?? Chord dressed him down and told him to step down.? Harrison was sure to be most disappointed in him as well.? Neither Brandon nor Kat were here, nor would he have a clue where to even start looking for them.? This was miserable.? He was miserable, but this wasn't a place that he felt that he belonged to anymore, so he started packing.? There wasn't much.? He came with almost nothing and was going to leave with nothing.? No loss, no gain, it was better than leaving with debt.? But the words that he said, the promise that floated to the forefront of his mind, were a heavy thing in his heart indeed. ? Just as Kites finished checking everything, he suddenly got a text on his watch.? The watch that Raine gave him, and the one he'd have to return since he no longer belonged here.? Bringing his wrist up, he tapped the display and the message floated up.? There's been an incident.? There's been an incident.? There's been an incident.? The winged youth paled and for a moment he thought his heart stopped beating.? His body reacted before his mind did.? Throwing on the same training outfit from before, since it was closest and sitting right there on the chair, he was out of the room at the speed of light, diving through the living room and spam pressing the elevator button to go up, foot tapping, nails scraping against his skin as he impatiently waited for the elevator to come down. ? "Ugh, why doesn't this supposedly state of the art facility not have a flying hangar, for crissakes?? I would've been there already!" Kites muttered to himself, biting his lips.? At last, the elevator appeared.? "Finally!!? Go, go, go! C'mon!"? He pressed the appropriate floor button, but as if the devil himself was having fun, the doors closed ever so slowly, the floor felt as if it fell out from under him with the speed of molasses, as he paced the interior, looking at the door with every passing second until at last the doors opened and he all but flew to meeting room C-15.? He felt so out of breath, coming up to the woman who seemed to be guarding the door, eyeing the newcomer. ? "Uh, hi...I'm um...Kites, one of the recruits here.? I just got this alarming message.? Am..am I the first one here?" Kites asked, eyes wild and wide opened.? Gen was still at the light house when he left...this couldn't...this couldn't be about her, could it?? He felt like he was almost going to faint, heart threatening to jump out of his throat as he wanted for the woman to address him. ? ? (Mia) ? Mia had just finished cleaning up her breakfast dishes when she received the text.? Wondering what was going on and where the higher ups were she made her way to the conference room. With a smile and a wave she stepped through the door to find Kites there already.? She sat a couple of chairs down knowing Gen and Kat would probably want to sit by him. ? "Good morning Kites. Left some space for the others. Any idea what is going on?" ? ? (Brandon) ? Brandon wanted to spend the night with Kat but he didn¡¯t, she was still in his room when he left to go see the one person that had always been there for him.? He knew what she said but he was Brandon, emotional and totally stubborn in his ideas of what he thought was right.? He went to her room, he knocked on the door, he knocked again.? He put his hand on the doorknob and with a quick pulse of energy it opened.? He walked around his sister¡¯s room, since she was not there and he let himself in.? She had been his first love, he looked around the room, seeing the pictures she kept he smiled and he waited.? Minutes passed then hours, he texted and just assumed she was being stubborn, sometimes all of his apologies fell on deaf ears. ? He told her he loved her, he would never abandon her or leave her for another.? She was always there for him and he didn¡¯t care what she said he wouldn¡¯t give up on her¡ever. ? Her launching into him hurt more than that of his father sometimes, more than the cold emotionless shoulder of Harrison when she got tired of his whining.? Sure he was quick to bear the weight of the moment as he felt like it was all his fault, if he would be better do better he would be accepted by his family, be seen in a better light if he just took it all made himself that punching bag from the crap that life kept throwing at him.? It was simply more that he didn¡¯t know how to fight back fairly, everything was clearly not his fault, there were sometimes that things just happened. ? He laid on her bed a part of him wanted to cry at the thought of losing Ireland or disappointing her again.? The pain of her lost was already devastating to him, sometimes he wondered if he would simply be better off¡dead!? But again that was the weakness in him talking. ? It was late when he heard the commotion, his heightened senses kicked in and he sat up and then walked to the door. ? It was early morning as he looked at his watch passed midnight for sure but there was a flurry of activity.? The message of their being an incident flashed over his watch and his phone.? Report to the briefing room, the team..? ¡®What the?¡¯ ? He didn¡¯t even try to take the stairs he just hopped over the rail and with a burst of speed flew to that level and landed. He didn¡¯t know something was going on and despite what he thought¡there was a foreboding sense of dread that even he couldn¡¯t shake.? It wasn¡¯t like Ireland to ignore him for this long, even for her being mad at him there was normally¡I don¡¯t know something? ? ¡°What going on?!?¡±? He said as he looked at the woman, not Chord¡his father or his mother that raised him Harrison.? It was clearly not a request.? His eyes narrowed in the direction of the facility security chief.? ¡°What happened?!?¡± (Kat) ? ?Kat had given Brandon a hug before he left to find Ireland and talk with her. She left his room and headed down to the gym to let off some pent up energy.? ? ?This went on for a bit. She had wanted to stay with Brandon, hold him, comfort him, make love with him. Yet she knew that he needed this talk with his sister. So a few hours later Kat left the gym, sweaty and exhausted.? ? ?She headed up to her room, stripped off her clothes, took a shower, dried off and put on her night clothes. She laid in bed and started to read. It didn't take her long before she fell asleep.? ? ?It was early in the morning when she heard a commotion outside her room. She got up and then noticed that her watch was blinking. She looked at it and seen the message about the team coming to the briefing room. *The team.* which confused her a little. She threw on some sweats and headed out.? ? ?As she rounded the corner to the briefing room she ran into several people including Brandon and the security officer chief. The scents hit her hard. Brandon's anxiety and anger. Yet it was the chief of security scent that drove out the others. She moved to place her hand on Brandon's shoulder. " Brandon, do you know what is going on? I got a message on my watch to meet here in the briefing room." ? (NPC Macamber) ? "Ah," the black woman in the austere grey security-personnel suit and close-cropped hair said, looking up from her tablet when Kat arrived,? 'You're all here now.? Good."? Turning, she tabbed a code into the meeting room keypad and opened the door, then gestured for the others to enter.? "If you'll all find a seat, I'll brief you on what has happened." Inside the meeting room, a long polished-mahogany table was ringed by several comfortable-looking chairs, and a large flat-screen monitor dominated the far wall.? Gen was seated in one of the chairs near the middle of the table, looking exhausted and bedraggled.? She was in her default mode and her clothes looked like she'd slept in them.? The androgyne looked up when the door opened and people began to enter, but then just looked down again, as if reluctant to meet their gaze. When everyone was inside, the security officer closed the door and locked it, then moved to the head of the table.? "I am Arvina Macamber, acting head of security for the Chord organization," she said without preamble.? Her dark brown eyes took in the group of young people seated before her, gauging their reactions as she spoke.? "The reason I am acting head of security is that there has been an incident.? Malcolm Chord, the head of our organization, was killed when his helicopter went down over the harbor earlier today.? Also killed were Imogene Harrison, his head of security, and Ireland Richards, whom I believe all of you also knew." She looked to Brandon directly for a moment, then continued.? "There was one witness to the incident."? Macamber glanced at her tablet, then frowned slightly before turning her gaze on the huddled androgyne.? "Gen, is it? No last name?" She looked at Gen for a moment longer, then went on.? "Please tell us anything you can about what you saw or heard. We'll interview you again later as our investigation gets underway, but for now, just tell us what you can." ? (Gen) ? Gen didn't look up, not wanting to meet anyone's gaze.? "They... they were coming to get me. Or maybe just to check on me.? I don't know.? I... I didn't ask them to come," she said, sounding defensive.? "I heard the sound of a helicopter getting close, and then I got this phone call.? It was Ireland.? I guess I must have given her my number when I first met her.? Nobody else had it." Gen's eyes began to tear up.? "Nobody else had it.? She was on the helicopter with Mister Chord and Harrison.? Calling to ask if they could land." At that point, she did look up, looking to the others seated at the table, her eyes begging for something.? "I didn't ask her to come," she said defensively.? "I didn't ask _any_ of them to come."? Finally she looked back down at the table where her murky face looked back at her from the polished surface.? "There was a sound from the phone, a noise from inside the helicopter.? Something was wrong.? Something was happening and they were reacting to it.? From the lighthouse, I could see the helicopter weave erratically for a second, and then... and then it just came apart... from the inside..."? Gen's voice choked up and tears began to fall onto her reflection.? "It was like it blew up, and all the pieces fell burning into the harbor.? I popped wings to fly to where they went down, then went to gills and fins and into the water.? I was hoping... maybe... maybe somehow..." The androgyne looked up again, a lost look in her eyes.? "All I could find were... were pieces.? Just pieces."? She began hugging herself, rocking back and forth in her chair, sobbing "I'm sorry.? I'm sorry.? They shouldn't have come out for me.? They shouldn't..." ? Tag - Kites, Mia, Brandon, Kat, Gen with NPC Macamber jumping in as needed |

Re: Raconteur City: Investigating Leads (Scarlett, Cartel NPCs, open)
Scarlett MacAleister Scarlett had placed herself in a corner on the backside of the mansion and hid there when she heard a door slide open, then close. Security, most likely. From the smells -- four humans and two dogs. The humans wouldn't see her if they walked right by her, but the dogs were another story. The redhead looked up and saw it was a three story climb.? The vampire jumped upward, ascending nearly two stories in one bound. There she attached herself self to the wall, her fingers and toes through the boots she wore found ledges and crevices which allowed her to cling to the side of the building -- something not many humans could do. She then looked down and watched two guards and a dog pass beneath her. The dogs became agitated as they passed, but continued on, the guard oblivious. Scarlett looked up and saw a window above, so she scaled the wall the rest of the way and arrived at the window, which she found unlocked. She opened it the rest of the way, sliced open the screen with a knife and let herself in on the third floor.? Slipping in through the window, Scarlett stepped onto the floor and found herself in a bedroom. It was currently unoccupied, except for a running television and a laptop left open on a small table in the room. Glancing at the screen she frowned, someone had been playing solitaire. This was likely one of the guards' rooms.? The vampire crept across the room and arrived at the door, which she listened at before preparing to open it... New Scarlett MacAleister ? Inside the room, Scarlett discovered a home office or study with a desk, computer, television and some furniture. The computer was on and a desk lamp was the only illumination in the room. The redhead moved over to the desk and looked at the computer, using a finger to brush the touch pad to bring the device out of sleep mode. ? When the screen came up, Scarlett could see some financial records and spread sheets displayed. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a flash drive, which she inserted into the computer. Then she proceeded to download a program from the drive that, once installed, would open a backdoor into the laptop she could have Snow gain access to their records from. ? ?Listening closely for anyone approaching, she waited while the device downloaded tot he laptop. After a couple minutes, the procedure was complete. She ejected the flash drive and pocketed it once again before moving back to the door. She heard footsteps in the hallway outside and then moved with stealth over to a window in the room. She opened the window and slipped outside, closing the window behind her. From there she jumped down to the ground and after landing in a crouch, looked around to get an idea of where the guards might be.? ? ?They were coming...very close by...and Scarlett knew they'd be picking up her scent any moment. The redhead took off in a sprint toward the tree line and was gone before the guards and their dogs zeroed in on her last location beneath the window of the office. As they swarmed around that location, Scarlett was in the woods, having vaulted over the fence and then started looking for Luke who was still somewhere in the area... (tag Luke, Cartel) ? ? |
Re: High Moon Tales. Tales of the Wicked West.
?{Charity}
? When the first of the undead shambled into Millers Crossing Charity was perplexed. Not only were they undamaged by battle, meaning that they had not met the Five along the road, but they were not driving the party before them either. She smiled then. ? ¡°Clever," she muttered, casting her senses across the landscape on the wings of bats and the paws of other nocturnal predators. "Where have you gone? Are we still shielding ourselves from sight? My bats do not use it, my coyotes and wolves use their noses better." She began dancing again, calling to her fauna minions. ? The coyotes replied first, howling among themselves as they circled the area where the Five had last been discovered. The scents of the undead covered any faint trace of the party's leaving. Wolves circled further out, far from the road both to the north and south. The bats fluttered about, but the clouds of insects had been drawn to the recent buffet of undead flesh that was still passing along the road. ? Finally a single mountain lion picked up the scent. Alone, at Charity's command, it followed the scent trail southeast into the mountains. "Follow and watch," Charity sang to it as she danced, "tell the ravens where they are come the dawn, and then rest." ? A cruel smile waxed across the wendigo's face as she added, "I shall have a special task for you when once again night shall fall." ? Having set the scene Charity turned her attention to the arriving undead. It wouldn't do to have her new subjects messing up her nice little town, they needed new flesh on their bare bones. One by one she danced them into the kiva. ? ? (Callie Carson) ? Callie reluctantly let go of Flynn. The men were better suited to lug him around. She was tough and strong, but she had her limits. The stench was almost unbearable. These undead were rotting terribly, she surmised from the smell, likely an intentional side-effect of the magic that had reanimated them, along with the natural decomposition caused by the hot sun. ? She did as Chase suggested and ties her bandana around her face, covering her nose and mouth in hopes of keeping the odor away. It was a noble effort, but she could still smell the dead around them. ? ?The redhead moved her horse into position and lashed it to the others, then looked to Etienne who, from out of nowhere, had basically taken over directing the group. She seemed to have a solid idea, so Callie was not inclined to do otherwise. She then waited to see where they would go next. ? (Flynn)? ? The pookah was aware he was being moved, from being supported by Callie to being outright carried by the man called Chase, but he kept his focus downward, searching the ground they were travelling over for a place they could escape to if the undead or other minions of their enemy managed to find them.? He hated being so helpless, but he was so low on glamour that spirit-gazing below the ground was all he could manage at the moment. ? ? Finally though, he found what he was looking for:? a gap - little more than a large crack really - situated some eighty feet beneath the ground their horses were walking over.? Concentrating, he looked further, and was rewarded with the discovery that the crack extended in the direction of Miller's Crossing.? But not directly.? There was about a fifteen-to-twenty foot deviation from their current path, and they needed to stay right over the gap in order for him to open a portal if escape became necessary. ? Flynn lifted an arm and pointed a few degrees to the right, muttering "that way".? Then dropped his arm and said nothing further.? ? [Sicilien] ? ? ? (Chase) |
Re: Blood Feuds: Trying to Survive (Anais, Vincent)
(Chantel)
Chantel gave Anais a smile and nod when the lady thanked her.? "Please, at least drink the water.? The bottle is unopened.? You need to stay hydrated.? As to why you are here." She sighed, "well, since you and I are going to be spending some time together, you need to feel you can trust me.? Before I explain why, let me explain who I am.? First though, being a tri-bred, do you have the ability to read minds?? And don't worry, I will not read yours without permission.? I don't like it when others do that to me."
(Anais) She wanted the water, but just couldn¡¯t. She just didn¡¯t trust people who drugged her and kidnapped her...regardless of how nice they were being.?Anais smiled. ¡°Thank you. I appreciate your kindness. But I am fine now. I appreciate your kindness.¡± She said. She rose a brow at the phase ¡°sometime together...and she needed to trust her.¡± Anais smiled at that. As if that would be possible. Trust her kidnapper.? Her mind went to her mother then...it was something her mother had done. Not only did she trust her kidnapper, she fell in love with him.? At the women¡¯s words, Anais said ¡°but you already have Chantal. I felt you touch my mind earlier. When we first met.¡± She shrugged then. ¡°No need to apologize. You work for my kidnapper so expected no less.¡± She paused.? ¡°As I said, I appreciate your kindness. I can see that you are trying to make this situation as less distasteful as it can be, and I appreciate you for doing so. But please understand, You work for my kidnapper. And I am being kept here against my will. So unless you plan to let me go home,I am not sure how much trust you can foster. Furthermore, it is difficult for me to trust you because I have no idea if your kindness is genuine or calculating on the part of your employer. And as such it is best if I stay closed off too you. But I appreciate your desire for such camaraderie and your pleasant demeanor thus I will endeavor to be equally pleasant to you. But at this time that is as much as I can give you. I hope you understand. Now you were going to tell me why I am here?¡± ?

Re: Port Vega: Meet & Greet Dinner (Posting Order: Aurora, Mara, Devi, Lightening Rod, Photon, Random NPCs)
(Devi)
[Mara] Once Jordie and Liza introduced themselves, then promptly sat down, it was Mara's turn.? The snake-like woman rose up, pushing the chair back with her foot, brushing her bangs back with a clawed hand, opening her mouth to speak when Misty skulked in, voicing her embarrassment at being late, afterwards silently sliding into a free seat.? She knew that the weather girl was going to get an earful for this later, having not only broken one of Aurora's foremost rules on always being prompt, but also interrupting the introductions.? But it was none of her business so she spared it no further thought. "Within these grounds, my name is Mara.? Outside of the walls, I am Sandtooth, though I do employ several other monickers.? I specialize in stalking, subterfuge, and when the situation calls it, assassination," Mara explained, crossing her arms as she looked over the newcomers again.? Everyone was certainly sitting at attention, though the blond haired young man at the very end seemed especially intent on looking at her.? The way his dusty blue eyes glazed over spoke volumes to Mara whose own turquoise colored orbs settled over his.? Her tongue darted out a few times, sampling the air, her lips curving into a knowing smirk.? The boy was giving off mixed signals, equal parts enthralled and afraid.? Now, wasn't that interesting...? Mara's eyes darted to look at Aurora, then just as quickly looked away.? "My powers include shapeshifting and poison.? You will never know I'm there unless I want you to, and I am always watching.? That is all." With that, she settled down, crossing her legs again, reaching for a glass of water.? The information she had gained was definitely going to be useful.? Mara knew that Aurora would understand her look.? Interesting indeed.

Re: Raconteur City: The Summoning (Pyp, Kutsuki)
(Pyp)
[Kutsuki] "What the fuck..." Kutsuki gaped as he watched the imp turned into an entirely uncharacteristic giant of a man.? Each of his arms was like a tree trunks, as were his legs, looking more like a detail that should be assigned to the president of the US, rather than to the white haired demon summoner.? Face palming hardcore, he heavily sighed as he peered at the hellion from between splayed fingers, letting out both a disappointed hiss and an annoyed "tch." "Pyp...for the love of all things unholy...this is NOT what I meant when I said you need to look like you belong at my side," he hissed, jabbing a sharply nailed finger into his chest, angrily looking up at him with glowing red, snake slitted eyes.? Studying the demon for a bit, he pulled back once he realized just how close he got, feeling goosebumps line his skin, crossing his arms.? Now the hellion was just playing with him.? "I don't normally walk around with secret service detail, which is exactly what you look like.? You need to look normal...like one of my friends, but not using any of their likenesses.? Look, you're not stupid and I know you've been around here for a while.? Try again, and this time, try harder, hmm?" "As for distance, just making sure no one lays their hands on me.? Especially not Isolde, because she will try.? I don't need a 6 foot perimiter.? It will look unnatural.? Now come, hurry up."? He impatiently tapped his foot, waiting for Pyp to pick something else out. [tag Pyp] |
Re: The Door Between Two Worlds [Roue and Rabbit] (closed)
(Rabbit) Rabbit sat up, eyes widening in surprise.? "You want me to t-tie you d-down?" he asked, biting his lip.? The little vampire looked uncertain for a moment, then looked liked he was blushing all over his slender naked body..? "Uhm, okay," he said finally.? But his eyes took on an impish glint as he added "But remember that you a-asked me to do it."
[Roue] "Why does it keep sounding like I'm digging myself a bigger hole?" Roue gasped when his little, lithe lover dragged the silken fabric over his chest.? The lightness of the material served to tease him oven more, gliding over his skin as the elf's stomach receded at the feeling, hissing once it was wrapped around his shaft.? It felt entirely too good, his hips pushing up into the touch until the vampire drew it away, leaving him even more bothered than he was before.? That caused him to involuntarily moan out.? "That does..that does feel good..." Before he knew it, the elf's right hand was now securely fastened to one of the bedposts, trying to pull his wrist away but finding the fabric's strength too much for him.? Strong indeed.? His attention was taken away from that as Rabbit teasingly traced his lips, leaving a trail of wetness, trying to push his head up to kiss his lover, but being frustratingly denied his desire when his left hand was captured as well, fastened to the other post.? Though he could move his lower body, his hands and arms were entirely denied their movement, straining against their bonds. "N-no, don't stop," Roue hissed out as his lover's hands once again moved down below.? They had barely even started but already the elf was so eager and raring to go, his pulsing length aching to be touched.? He dug his heels into the bed, trying to push his hips up further.? "Just don't stop touching me...please..." [tag Rabbit] |
Re: The Trouble Begins (Katya and Ashton)
(Ashton) He looked at Katya realizing they needed to deal with the white elephant in the room.? He moved to help her into the car before getting in himself.? He recognized the look, he smirked but only a little she kept immaculate records he knew.? ¡°I need you to tell me about your business my love, you may think you are dealing with product but it looks like you or your facility was being used in human trafficking.¡±? He said it, it wasn¡¯t that he didn¡¯t trust her he loved her but be that as it may there were still people being moved like cargo in her warehouse and being shipped off, if it was one or two or a couple hundred it was still what it was. ¡°Yes, we need to shower and talk about trust!¡±? He knew this was not going to go over well since he friggin¡¯ James Bond at times without the bed hopping cause there was only one bed he wanted to be in but still.? She could¡¯ve always asked.? He moved to drive them home now. (Katya) Katya gave Ashton a smile, "no, I do not need to tell you about my business.? I can assure you that there are no humans being trafficked out of my warehouses.? As Angelo said, he tipped everyone off at the docks.? Not just my business.? So the humans are being moved through someone elses."? She gave him a sigh as they started to drive away.? She knew he wouldn't understand her business.? It was a vampire business, not a human trafficking business. Then he through out the words trust.? "Really, trust.? You don't trust me?? Seems we both have some secrets and well, that is part of life, especially ours."? She didn't say anything else, just watched out the window as they drove to their apartment. Tag: Ashton |
Re: The Trouble Begins (Katya and Ashton)
(Ashton)
He was glad Katya was there.? He was normally cooler but Arrow being dead did something to him.? He had one lover she was next to him and he loved her completely¡he had few friends and now one of them was dead, so that left him with finding the man¡¯s killer.?
?
His woman¡¯s warehouse was involved in a smuggling/human trafficking operation and he was sure she wanted to know who was using her place for that as well.? So they were going to work together and he still had some questions he wanted answered as well.? He was open for killing this little puissant but he knew because he was so valuable he was going to need the rat eventually.
?
Once he had the information off of his phone, he moved to leave.? ¡°Don¡¯t let me catch you lying to me, it will be your last one.¡±? He held on to make sure there was nothing else he wanted to say to them.? He would have to try to get the number traced.? He was sure there was something else he was missing.? The shipment was moved to another location, there was someone that knew why and who sent the tip?? ¡°Do you keep a recording log of incoming calls and the manifest of deliveries?¡±? He asked thinking? something might be there, there were supposed to be 35 people, women and children, there were 10¡where were those ten taken as they were the decoys so there are 25 slaves unaccounted for? (Katya) Angelo seemed to be done and as soon as he was released he scurried away like the rat he was.? They watched him as he made his to the street and into a cab.? She then turned to Ashton and gave him a, what kind of question is that look.? "Of course, but my business has nothing to do with people, just product.? So, what do you think should be our next move, my dear? After we pause to shower this smell off."
(Ashton) He looked at Katya realizing they needed to deal with the white elephant in the room.? He moved to help her into the car before getting in himself.? Re: Port Vega: Meet & Greet Dinner (Posting Order: Aurora, Mara, Devi, Lightening Rod, Photon, Random NPCs)
(Mara) The snake woman watched as the new recruits filed into the dining room, examining them through the infrared, her tongue flicking in and out as she tasted the air.? When Aurora came in, she looked to the darkened corner where Mara was settled, watching, seeing her smile light up and then ever so slightly, nodding her head in response.? They had a sort of mental link that allowed them to sense each other's presences, but Mara didn't have the type of power where she could use it as a means of communication.? Once everyone settled in and she had a chance to measure everybody's body heat, Mara melded out of the shadows and stepped into the light, adjusting the straps of her v-necked dress, going to take her place beside Aurora, crossing her legs as she leaned back, one hand going up to move a stray clump of hair behind her ears. ? "Ah, at least, we get to eat.? Is this everyone, or are we waiting for any other late arrivals?"? She looked everyone over with her normal eyesight now, taking mental notes of they sat and moved, what caught their attention.? It was not just force of habit, but also a survival technique.? One never knew when the information that she ingested was going to come in handy. ? (Devi) Devi gave Lightning Rod a smile when he introduced himself. Once he took her arm she let him guide her in. As they made their way to the dining room Devi looked around to familiarize herself to her surroundings. Her attention turned back to Jordie when he spoke and pointed to where both Lightning Rod and herself. She gave him a nod and moved to sit in the chair. ? She had seen Aurora at the head of the table as she sat down. About to ask a question she stopped as she seen a snake looking woman step from the shadows and make her way to sit next to Aurora. When the snake woman spoke, Devi smiled. She looked to Aurora, "Thank you for the invitation. It is very beautiful place." ? (Lightning Rod) Following Devi's example, Roddy nodded to Aurora.? "Pretty posh indeed. My compliments to the decorator." He glanced around at the other guests seated at the table.? Only two seemed out of the ordinary, outwardly at least. The first was a large man wearing some kind of costume, complete with a hood that hid most of his face and some kind of bracers on his forearms. He looked to be black, fairly powerfully built, and possibly on familiar terms with Aurora?? Roddy wasn't terribly good at reading people, but somehow, he was getting that impression.?? ? But it was the other latecomer that immediately drew his full attention.? Even at a distance, Roddy could see that there was something distinctly not-quite-human about her.? There was a scale-like sheen to parts of her dusky olive skin, particularly from just above her eyes to down the ridge of her rather flattened nose, beginning again down her neck to her collarbone.? Her hair, which was cut fairly short, was a blonde but with a coppery tint.? Her eyes, however, were her most striking feature.? Bright turquoise in color, with slitted irises that gave her a mesmerizing intensity he could feel without her even looking his way.? She moved with a flowing grace towards the table, filling the normally arrogant youth with an unfamiliar mix of heart-stopping fear and out-and-out lust. ? The snake-woman was the last to be seated. Next to Aurora, Roddy noted.? He suspected that the seating reflected some kind of status, frowning slightly when he saw that he was further away from their host than anyone else.? Something to be rectified in the future.? But for the moment, he could only stare helplessly. "Who... who is _that_?" he whispered to Devi, nodding towards the woman.?? ? (Raine) It didn¡¯t take him long to change and return, the truth was he didn¡¯t have to but she wanted appearances.? Besides this costume was special.? She felt it important that they present a unified front then so be it.? Far be it for him to not make things exactly how they should be for his heart.? He would follow her lead, he had thus far.? Not that he couldn¡¯t just things seemed to have a certain way of working out when everyone knew their roles.? He was truly the brawn of the pair, no matter how he may have wanted to be the brains.? He could implement a plan sure but coming up with one was not normally his forte. He gazed at each of those that were there; he was only eager to blast any one of them back into the middle of next year, if he had too.? At this particular moment he hoped it didn¡¯t come to that, he hated to clean up the body after all the time that was spent to make the place look so nice.? He smirked even if his face couldn¡¯t be seen, his sonics allowed him to hear the conversations and the questions that were asked.? He leaned into Aurora¡¯s ear and spoke, ¡°The floor is yours.¡±? It was but a whisper but between then it was clearly audible. He watched to keep abreast of the changes open and ready for any attack. (Aurora) Aurora watched as everyone took their seats.? She gave Mara a smile then, ¡°I believe everyone is present...no, where is Misty?¡± With that she stood up.? ¡°Good evening and welcome to the Benders of Light headquarters.? As you all know, I am Aurora.? This is Photon, my second.? Please, lift your face shield and take a seat.? This is Jordie and Liza.? This is Mara.? I would like the others to please introduce yourselves.? First, Jordie and Liza may speak.? I wish for you all to tell what your abilities are.? I will reveal mine afterwards.? Jordie, Liza.¡±? Aurora sat back down to let the others have the floor. (Jordie/Liza) The couple stood.? ¡°I am Jordie.? I am the Benders of Light computer geek.? I have eyes that read faster than a normal human, which is why I wear sunglasses most of the time.? If you need something found or something to disappear from the net, I can make that happen.? Liza.¡± ¡°I am Liza, as mentioned, I handle all of the financial aspects of the program¡¡± (Misty) Misty came walking rather quickly into the dining room.? Her suit was a calm blue color, ¡°sorry I am late¡¡± She stopped talking as soon as she realized that there were others standing.? With an embarrassed smile she quickly and quietly took her seat next to Jordie¡¯s, as she caught the disappointment look from Aurora. (Liza) Liza continued, "I am able to acquire many things in the financial systems.? I work with Jordie...I really don't know what else to say." With that, the two sat back down. Re: Blood Feuds: Trying to Survive (Anais, Vincent)
(Anais) As stepped into the stall, turning on the water. She let the shower spray fall upon her head, face and shoulders hoping that the tension that had settled there from being tied would ebb away under the hot water.? As she showered, Anais thought, contemplating what exactly was happening to her. Why was she here? Was it because of Draven? The man who took her knew exactly who she was. The other woman even said his name. But why? She hadn¡¯t seen or heard from the man who was suppose to be her betrothed in several months. Did they not know that? Would they believe her if she told them? As Anais finished her shower, she turned off the water and stepped from the tub. She wrapped herself up in the robe that was at the door. And stepped back into her room. She was surprise to find it full of light, even a soft breeze flowing through.?¡°Thank Chantel. But you didn¡¯t have to do this. However, I appreciate your help.¡± Anais dressed in the soft dress of flowing green they had provided for her. Surprisingly it was the most comfortable dress she had worn her whole pregnancy. Her long mane of wheat colored curls flowing around her shoulders. She saw the food and water, but did not indulge. Instead she sat upon the bed, folding her hands in her lap she said. ¡°Can you tell me why it is I am here?¡± (Chantel) Chantel gave Anais a smile and nod when the lady thanked her.? "Please, at least drink the water.? The bottle is unopened.? You need to stay hydrated.? As to why you are here." Re: A Pirates Life (Khadashee and Draven)
(Khadashee/Sa'id) Khadashee smiled when he took some of the potatoes. ¡°they¡¯re very good aren¡¯t they? Cookie is the one of the best. He makes the best desserts too. Try this. It¡¯s made with coffee?¡± Khadashee said with a smile. ¡°Claims to be Your half brother,¡± Sa¡¯id repeated ignoring Draven¡¯s question. ¡°That means this is your first time meeting him and you need to substantiate his claim. Do you think the queen is in any danger?¡± The older man asked. (Draven) Draven accepted the bite of dessert and gave his love a smile, "yes, very good indeed.? May need to have him work with my cook to give some different items on our ship." Then to Sa'id, "no, like you, Sa'id, I will ensure the queen's safety.? He wants to be made first mate and have his shares of my, um, earnings.? Yes this is the first time meeting him.? He mentioned that my father, mother and myself were mentioned in his mother's journal..." he paused in thought. "...I wonder if my mother knew." Tag: Khadashee/Sa'id |
Re: Blood Bonds: Getting to know Paris (Draven, Nicolete)
(Nicolete) Nicolete was a smart woman and at this points well aware of what Draven was doing. So being smart she knew when to pick her battles. This was one of those times. Thus she allowed herself to be pull into a dance, moving with him in time to the music with ease.??At his question, she smirked. ¡°I have no doubt both he and she already know.¡± At that point the dance ended. Letting go of his hand she bowed gracefully. ¡°It was a pleasure Draven,¡± with that she stepped in to kiss his check right underneath his ear. Then turned on her heals just as two male members of the party, both vampires arrived. (Draven) With his own grace, Draven returned the bow, then with a slight moan, Draven accepted the kiss.? "Until the next dance then." He said as he let her slip away knowing that she would return before the evening was through. He turned his attention to the others in the room and wondered who would approach him next as he took a glass of blood wyne off a passing tray.? He was curious to meet the Duke and Prince of the city.? What would they do to him? He wondered to himself. Tag: Nicolete, NPCs? |
Re: Port Vega: End of the Beginning. (Gen, Kites, Mia, NPCs, next.)
Jhwulfven
(Gen)
?
Gen was only dimly aware when the search-and-rescue team Chord's HQ sent out arrived.? Two of them, an older man named Simmons who was apparently a doctor and a middle-aged woman named Macamber with a security feel to her, stayed with her as the rest began searching the area.
?
?
?
The doctor began checking her for injuries as the security woman asked about what had happened.? She told them everything she could about what she'd seen and heard, but it was like hearing someone else answering their questions.? Inside, she just felt numb.? She didn't resist as they bundled her into one of the helicopters that had come, and soon she was being flown back to the HQ.? Once there, they escorted her to a meeting room and told her to wait there.? She heard the door lock itself as soon as they left the room, but didn't care.? Where would she go, after all?
?
?
?
(NPC Macamber)
?
Macamber took up a position just outside the door to the meeting room, then called her team.? "Those of you not currently engaged in the search-and-rescue, fan out and find all members of that team Mister Chord had assembled, and then bring them here."? She then sent a text message to the individual team members:? "There's been an incident.? All of you please return to Chord HQ and report to Meeting Room C-15 without delay.? I will brief you when you all arrive."
?
?
?
?
(Kites)
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
(Mia)
?
Mia had just finished cleaning up her breakfast dishes when she received the text.? Wondering what was going on and where the higher ups were she made her way to the conference room. With a smile and a wave she stepped through the door to find Kites there already.? She sat a couple of chairs down knowing Gen and Kat would probably want to sit by him.

"Good morning Kites. Left some space for the others. Any idea what is going on?"

(Brandon)
?
?
?
?Brandon wanted to spend the night with Kat but he didn¡¯t, she was still in his room when he left to go see the one person that had always been there for him.? He knew what she said but he was Brandon, emotional and totally stubborn in his ideas of what he thought was right.? He went to her room, he knocked on the door, he knocked again.? He put his hand on the doorknob and with a quick pulse of energy it opened.? He walked around his sister¡¯s room, since she was not there and he let himself in.? She had been his first love, he looked around the room, seeing the pictures she kept he smiled and he waited.? Minutes passed then hours, he texted and just assumed she was being stubborn, sometimes all of his apologies fell on deaf ears.
?
?
?
He told her he loved her, he would never abandon her or leave her for another.? She was always there for him and he didn¡¯t care what she said he wouldn¡¯t give up on her¡ever.
?
?
?
?Her launching into him hurt more than that of his father sometimes, more than the cold emotionless shoulder of Harrison when she got tired of his whining.? Sure he was quick to bear the weight of the moment as he felt like it was all his fault, if he would be better do better he would be accepted by his family, be seen in a better light if he just took it all made himself that punching bag from the crap that life kept throwing at him.? It was simply more that he didn¡¯t know how to fight back fairly, everything was clearly not his fault, there were sometimes that things just happened.
?
?
?
? He laid on her bed a part of him wanted to cry at the thought of losing Ireland or disappointing her again.? The pain of her lost was already devastating to him, sometimes he wondered if he would simply be better off¡dead!? But again that was the weakness in him talking.
?
?
?
?It was late when he heard the commotion, his heightened senses kicked in and he sat up and then walked to the door.
?
?
?
It was early morning as he looked at his watch passed midnight for sure but there was a flurry of activity.? The message of their being an incident flashed over his watch and his phone.? Report to the briefing room, the team..? ¡®What the?¡¯
?
He didn¡¯t even try to take the stairs he just hopped over the rail and with a burst of speed flew to that level and landed. He didn¡¯t know something was going on and despite what he thought¡there was a foreboding sense of dread that even he couldn¡¯t shake.? It wasn¡¯t like Ireland to ignore him for this long, even for her being mad at him there was normally¡I don¡¯t know something?
?
?
?
?¡°What going on?!?¡±? He said as he looked at the woman, not Chord¡his father or his mother that raised him Harrison.? It was clearly not a request.? His eyes narrowed in the direction of the facility security chief.? ¡°What happened?!?¡±
(Kat) ? I got a message on my watch to meet here in the briefing room." |

Gen) Gen was only dimly aware when the search-and-rescue team Chord's HQ sent out arrived.? Two of them, an older man named Simmons who was apparently a doctor and a middle-aged woman named Macamber with a security feel to her, stayed with her as the rest began searching the area. ? (NPC Macamber) Macamber took up a position just outside the door to the meeting room, then called her team.? "Those of you not currently engaged in the search-and-rescue, fan out and find all members of that team Mister Chord had assembled, and then bring them here."? She then sent a text message to the individual team members:? "There's been an incident.? All of you please return to Chord HQ and report to Meeting Room C-15 without delay.? I will brief you when you all arrive." (Kites) It felt like Kites had fallen asleep and was dreaming, the scenes flashing before his eyes an amalgamation of the whole day.? Bringing his wrist up, he tapped the display and the message floated up.??There's been an incident.??There's been an incident.? (Mia) Mia had just finished cleaning up her breakfast dishes when she received the text.? Wondering what was going on and where the higher ups were she made her way to the conference room. With a smile and a wave she stepped through the door to find Kites there already.? She sat a couple of chairs down knowing Gen and Kat would probably want to sit by him. "Good morning Kites. Left some space for the others. Any idea what is going on?"
