¡°He has had a bad dream.¡± Mikayla said to Angus. Without a word slow measured steps brought her to The Dragon. As she moved to him, she grabbed a blanket that was draped across the back of a chair. Her own dream long since forgotten in his distress. She knelt and hugged him. ¡°I am sorry you had such a fright.¡±?

Holding him close around the neck, she stroke his scales. ¡°I will stay with you tonight.¡± She said coming to?stepped up, upon the dais. ¡°And tomorrow you should go out to get some air while Angus and I tidy your room,¡± she said matter-of-factly.

¡°Good Night, Angus,¡± Mikayla said with a soft smile. She?snuggled into his side and draped the blanket over them both. She wrapped her arm over him large talon and rested in the crook of his arms.

Once settle she began to hum a soft familiar tune. It was soft soothing tune?that had been sung to her by her mother and by her grandmother to her mother.?

(The Dragon, Angus)

The Dragon slept, an untroubled sleep for once, his dreams permeated by an unfamiliar melody.? His breathing was deep and steady, sending a low rumble through the stone of the marble dais and into the stone walls of the room.? A warm presence graced his side and he unconsciously made an effort to not disturb it.

Morning came and he awoke, the early light of sunrise beginning to stream in through the chamber's sole window.? Lifting his head slightly, The Dragon surveyed the wrecked furniture strewn about the room, wincing at the memory.? But he stayed quiet and still, not wanting to wake the girl who still? slept at his side. Who had stayed there all night, with only a blanket for protection.? He pondered this, and the bits and pieces he could recall of his dreams - were they dreams? - of the night before.
