Re: Raconteur City: Back to the Beginning: Scarlett/Tempest

The voice chuckled. ¡°You already know who I am Scarlett. We¡¯ve worked together on quite a few jobs. Beside, if I were you I would reconsider, consider since I know you have some very powerful enemies. If I¡¯m correct you, The Tempest is after you. Which is way worse than killing a prince who is already marked for death. Either you kill her and take the money or someone else does. And if you take the job we can get the Tempest off your back.¡± (Scarlett)
Scarlett wasn't sure what to make of the whole situation. As a soldier for the Vampire Nation she'd worked beside many vampires over the years. More recently it had been humans...and other awakened beings.? There was also the distinct possibility this was Tempest; part of her plot to destroy Scarlett by getting her to murder the new prince, thus marking her for death. Not Tempest's typical approach. She figured her former mistress would want to personally inflict as much suffering on Scarlett as she could before she ended her life. Tempest was her problem and as nice as it would be to have her taken out of the picture, she wasn't going to kill the prince to make that happen. She needed to somehow turn this around to her advantage. She hastily hatched a plan and spoke. "I'm intrigued. Having Tempest removed from the equation would be beneficial," Scarlett said. "However, this is not a decision I'm prepared to make tonight. Call me back at nightfall tomorrow and I will have an answer for you." WIthout allowing a reply, Scarlett ended the call. She turned off the phone so the caller could not immediately call back, nor would anyone be able to track her movements. To make sure of that, she reached into a saddlebag on the bike and pulled out a Faraday shield -- a bag for her cellphone that blocked the signal she used to make sure she couldn't be tracked -- and she put it away. Afterwards, she fired up the bike and checked the time. There were a few short hours of darkness left. Reasonably, she needed to head for home, but she wanted to give a warning to the new prince. Hopefully, the Midnight Society would allow her to spend her daylight hours inside their walls. If not, she knew of a couple of motels nearby where she could hole up while the sun was out...not ideal, but an acceptable option. Scarlett then drove the motorcycle across town on her way to the Midnight Society...

Re: Caribbean Vacation (Carmen/Rhemy)
Carmen) "Guess that makes sense, that you would want to be far from the tourists when you live in such a place. No, sillies. This is simply a secluded beach. No one owns it, except maybe the locals. There are only a few people who vacation here who know about it." Carmen said as the limo door was open and the driver helped them all out. He retrieved their belongings from the trunk. "Will there be anything else, ma'am?" He asked Carmen. She looked around, "just be back in about 4 hours to take us back to the hotel." She said and with a smile, she picked up her beach bag and she waited for the others to do the same.

Scarlett scowled slightly. Obviously, someone misunderstood her methods and motivations.?
?
She may have killed fellow vampire Wolfram as vengeance for the death of her beloved more than 150 years ago, and for Turning her against her will. Scarlett had narrowly avoided execution for that crime and was fortunate only to be exiled. Killing the newly awakened prince, if she was even successful, would put a death mark on her head for the rest of her life -- however short that would be. Retaliation would be swift and agonizing.
?
She had carried out assassinations many years earlier for the Vampire Nation, humans mostly...occasionally a werewolf or other creature who was conspiring against vampires. She had been out of that business since she was exiled. Her work since had mostly been as an investigator working for vampire and human clients, some occasional bodyguard work and more rarely as a mercenary soldier. Never as an assassin.
?
"You must think me a fool?" the redhead replied. "Killing the prince would mean certain death...but not until I was made to suffer greatly for my actions. Besides, I have have no reason to hate or kill the prince. I am not interested. Furthermore, you'd better hope I don't learn who you are because I would be happy to kill you for making such a move against the prince."

Re: Raconteur City: The Hunted (Hollywood/Diego, Ariein, Elisiana, open)
Hollywood) Once Ari was out of the office she called down to the prison and gave the orders for Eli. She was to be left in the dark and not provided blood. She would see how long it would take for her to become more cooperative. Most vampires were able to go a few weeks, while others only lasted a few days without nourishment.
?
She finished up her books and headed to her own room after locking her office. She knew that Ari and Eli were trying to make her feel guilty for things in the past, but the thing was, since she couldn't feel anything, it made no difference to her. Once in her room she prepared for bed and shortly was laying in bed waiting for sleep to come. It would eventually as it always did.
?
Ari/Eli
¡°Are you serious? ³Û´Ç³Ü¡¯°ù±ð starving her now? Have you even talked to her? To see if that tactic is even worth it?
The next morning Ari slammed into Hollywood¡¯s office, not stopping for Ambrosia. He has gone to see his sister and wasn¡¯t allowed access. Not that he was surprised. He figured he wouldn¡¯t be given access. But the smug as guard let it slip that Hollywood had ordered Eli be kept in the literal dark without nourishment.
And that was were he drew the line.

New Scarlett MacAleister
?
The redheaded vampire stood astride her motorcycle, having been parked along the side of the street near the Midnight Club as she reminisced about her time with Tempest. With the phone raised to her ear, she heard the electronically altered voice offer her a job, immediately raising red flags for a couple of reasons.
?
One -- The phone number generally in circulation for her detective business was not her cellphone. It rang to a landline in her office at her main home and Snow, her assistant, generally screened calls and contacted her to discuss potential clients.
?
Two -- Why was someone trying to disguise their voice? Unless it was recognizable to Scarlett.?
?
Three -- She receives this mysterious call just minutes after Tempest made her presence known through another call in which she appeared to threaten revenge upon the redhead.
?
Scarlett was quiet for a moment, then responded, knowing full well this might be a trap. "What job? Who is this?"

The purple light slipped in, fluttered and move throughout the castle, taking him further and further away from his turret and deeper and deeper down into wings and room he hadn¡¯t been in for a very long time which lead him to a very familiar door. With a familiar name carved into. Beckoning that he open it.

(Angus)
?
"Mistress, have you never said things that weren't what you meant?? Or were taken the wrong way?" Angus implored, his body language begging her to listen.? "I've known the Master for... for a long time.? He's always been reluctant to admit feeling anything for anyone.? Let alone admitting that he needs them.? But he needs you.? I know this as much as I know anything.? You've managed to get closer to him than anyone I've ever seen in this place.? You've managed to give him hope.? Please, Mistress, don't take that away from him now.? Not after having come so far."
?
(The Dragon)
The Dragon looked again at the name on the door.? Jerusha.? It gnawed at him, teased him, a memory that lay just out of reach, seen as if through some dark glass, familiar but never quite within his grasp, just like the wisp.? Bracing himself, he opened the door, willing his taloned fingers to turn the handle slowly and carefully so as not to break it.? The feeling of familiarity grew as the room beyond became visible, lit by the light of the glowing wisp.

Re: Raconteur City: Family Business (Colin, Victoria, Katya, Vincent)
Victoria smiled triumphantly at her twin. She loved their relationship; on the outside it may seem like they were in competition but they weren¡¯t. She was the Yin to his Yang. (Vincent/Colin) Colin gave his sister a squeeze. The love he had for her was very hard to explain. Even when they weren't together, he could feel her presence. Theirs was a love that only twins would understand. Once she was out of the room, he turned to their father. "Things are going well. Business is always good. Does mother what a male or female slave, this time?"
Vincent was glad that his children got along as well as they did. With a smile, he watched Tori head off to get the books. "Glad to hear it. I thing she is requesting a female. She never did keep the male ones for long, as they tend to make her mad." He said with a chuckle.
