(Angus, The Dragon)
"That it did, mistress," Angus said, nodding solemnly. "That it surely did. 'Tis a pity that you left so abruptly though.? You missed seeing what you were able to accomplish."
The man waited for Mikayla to begin eating, then continued.? "I apologize if the master failed to explain what he was trying to find out.? He meant no insult or disrespect, no matter how it might have seemed.? The book he was having you read is no ordinary book.? It is a tome of magic castings.? No ordinary person could read it, let alone make it work.? And yet you managed to do both." He regarded the girl admiringly as he spoke, but then sighed.? "At least, it was working until you stopped so suddenly.? That had some rather distressing results."
"But the master is much recovered now," Angus went on, cheering up a bit.? "And he very much wishes to see you again. When you feel you're up to it, that is."
Mikayla
At his words, the color drained from her face. Everything...everything she had experienced last night was real...everything! If everything she experienced last night was real that meant...
Suddenly she stopped her pacing.?"Angus," she said spinning to turn to him. Shock confusion and horror on her face and then finally...what could be considered understanding. "The big brute of a dog, the one that blocked my path last night and that would not let me pass. That was you?" She said hesitantly, reluctantly.?
