Anais grasp Draven¡¯s hand tighter at the words. She did not let go. She understood how he felt. The pain of loosing a parent. It was terrible.?She remembered the day she was told her father was killed. It had been terrible. She wanted to die. Instead she ran to hide in a hollowed out tree and drank so much blood wine?she blacked out.?She felt his pain immensely now that they were bonded. She stood behind him. Her one hand in his and the other on his shoulder. She wanted him to know she was there for him.
(Draven, Serena) Serena didn't move or speak.? Simply waited for Draven to absorb the news.? Draven moved his hand to Anais' on his shoulder and moved her around to sit next to him on the bench.? He knew that she felt his pain.? The cricket was joined by another and the moon rose higher in the sky.? Somewhere in the distance an owl hooted.? After a few moments, Draven gathered himself and looked up at his mother.? "And Mathias?"
Serena gave him a slight smile, "oh Mathias.? Well, he wants your father's place as you well know.? He has tried to cause problems, but I have managed to keep him in line.? He did send you the invite, but I am unsure of his intentions."
Draven had always wondered about his relationship with Mathias, "so it is true.? I was not imagining the animosity towards me all these years."
Serena simply shook her head before rising. "I will give you two a few moments to discuss the family.? I will go and check on those refreshments myself."? She walked up to Draven and gave his cheek a caress, "you okay?"? He nodded and gave her a smile.? She then gave Anais a gentle kiss on the cheek, "thank you for coming and accepting Draven.? I am sorry that Vespasian was not here to meet you.? He would have loved you."? With that she walked away from the gazebo.
