Re: Blood Bonds: Family Ties

(Anais, Mathias)
¡°Oh¡± Anais said taking Draven¡¯s hand ¡°I'm sorry love ...I didn¡¯t mean that I didn¡¯t want to see the grounds with you, Beloved. I just thought that if what you were going to be talking with your mother about was something not for your brother's ears then most assuredly means it wouldn¡¯t be for my ears also.¡± Then she thought about what she said. ¡°Lord Mathias...I am so sorry...I didn¡¯t mean..." she said nibbling her bottom lip.?

Mathias smiled softly. ¡°Think nothing of it Lady Anais. It is par for the course here. But I do so appreciate your offer of company. Maybe another day before Essy and I leave, we will, all us become better acquainted. ?I¡¯m sure the staff will bring out your refreshments soon. Draven, Serena,¡± he said with a nod. ¡°Enjoy the rest of your tour Lady Anais.¡± He smiled then turn on his heels and moved back inside the house.
Anais turned to watch Mathias enter the manor and then she sighed.

(Draven, Serena)
Draven let out a sigh once Mathias was gone and offered his arm to his mother and the three of them moved to the gazebo.? Once there, Serena took a seat.? "Mother, where is father?? I have not felt him for quite some time now."

Serena let out a sigh as she thought about how to tell him, "there is no easy way to say this, Draven.? Your father is gone.? He was killed while on a mission to a," she paused and glanced at Anais, "human encampment in Europe.? You know they are still rather prevalent over there."

Draven dropped to the nearest bench and took a sighing breathe.? It was like he had been hit in the gut.? "Where is his...remains?" He asked quietly trying to hold back the tear that was wanting to escape down his cheek.

Serena let a tear roll down her cheek, she knew this was going to be the hardest thing to ever tell him.? "They are in the vault.? He was flown home a few weeks after.? I didn't want to tell you over a phone call or in a letter."

He shook his head, "I blame you not for not telling me before now..." his voice trailed off as he sat in silence for a few minutes as a cricket chirped in the bushes nearby.
