[Raine]
Raine did, what Raine did.? Keep them on
their toes and keep them guessing.? He would
be gone before they even knew what hit them.?
He could tell this one was both young and nervous, he had a few tells
that Raine would exploit.? He was shaking
his hand firmly.? ¡®Training.? Cute!¡¯
¡°Kites?? Like a falcon, right?¡±? He asked maybe getting a glimpse of his
powerset, but even as he did he instantly began to try to counter what he would
do to him if it came up.? ¡®Maybe not fast
enough to dodge lasers, bullets perhaps?¡¯?
The thought ran through his mind pretty quickly.

¡°I am Raine.¡±? He said he was there to see his sister, no
one said he couldn¡¯t come to visit he just didn¡¯t like to stay.? He bowed slightly as he was familiar with the
custom.? ¡°Mr. Chord has a way of
embellishing a bit at times and sure people will not like winged individuals in
public.? Could be the jealousy more than
anything, they aren¡¯t going to barbeque you though.? Make you into some fried chicken wings so you
should be ok.¡±? He teased.? ¡°What is up you don¡¯t look so good, like
someone stole your last piece of candy or goyza from your plate?¡±? He asked.

¡°Just the workers and
staff sometimes they come up here to get some air.? Like we all do.¡± Indicating that he was a
worker here without saying so.?? ¡°You
messed up pretty bad by doing what?¡±? He
asked curious and all but saddened for him he seemed.? ¡°My sister she is another worker here.? I don¡¯t know if you have met her there are
several staff here.¡±? He said ¡®specifically
good question.¡¯? ¡°What else can you do
besides fly of course?¡±

Kites noticed how the man who introduced himself as Raine shook his hand just as firmly.? However unlike his own gesture, his grip felt confident and self-assured, the complete and total opposite of how he was feeling in this moment.? When Raine guessed at his bird species, however, he couldn't help but chuckle a little, hiding his smile behind a fist, using it as an excuse to cough and clear his throat.
"It was a good guess, but no.? Completely different avian family," Kites responded, shaking his head.? "My species is a swallow kite...accipitriformes order, accipitridae family."? When he realized just how nerdy he sounded, he clammed up, feeling his cheeks flush with color.? This man must've thought he was a complete and total dweeb, but when he looked back up at him, Raine didn't seem to be sneering or looking back at him in disgust.? Instead, his expression was one of calmness and he seemed to have a genuine smile so perhaps he was being too judgemental here.? So when the man indicated that he was one of the workers here, Kites didn't question it.? He would be a a complete fool if he had revealed he didn't realize there was others here besides his fledgling team, having been so consumed with Gen and nothing but.
"Um, well...today...no, that was yesterday, we were just doing our first training test, but we didn't exactly perform to expectations.? In fact, it was a miserable failure," he answered to Raine's question on what was dampened his spirits.? It's not like Kites was hiding, or at least able to hide, his feelings.? His demeanor was clear for the whole world to see.? "I'm not yet sure what all I can do...maybe this was test was meant to show me that, but I was too focused on someone...um, something else.? I mean besides my flight I have my strength.? I can lift pretty heavy stuff and I can take a punch, but that's about it...maybe I'm worth more than that, but I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to find out."? He looked away, back towards the city as he crossed his arms and sighed.? He needed to do better than this, he needed to not give up like he was given up.? He knew that, but right now, his mind was in turmoil.
