Re: What Lies in the Heart. Mikayla/The Dragon

(The Dragon, Angus)

"I didn't bring you here to lecture me, girl," the Dragon fumed grumpily.? "It should be within your power to soothe and comfort me without the I-told-you-so's, should it not?"

"Me sing?" The Dragon frowned in thought for a moment.? "I don't know," he said finally, sounding a bit bemused.? "I never tried.? It... it didn't seem important, before." He made a sound that sounded like a herd of bulls sighing all at once.? "When I was young, all my time was spent on my studies.? Singing... never came up.? Now..." he snorted disdainfully, rousing a puff of dust particles along the stone floor, "I doubt if this body would sound in any way pleasant if I tried to sing with it."

Angus entered the room pushing a small cart before him.? The servant bowed respectfully to Mikayla.? "The soup you requested is ready, mistress."? From the bottom of the cart, he brought out a large copper basin which he set on the floor not far from where the Dragon's head rested near the edge of the dais.? "I'm afraid this is going to be somewhat experimental, mistress," Angus said as he reached into the cart and lifted out a heavy tureen.? Removing the flat metal lid, he began pouring the light yellow soup thick with flecks of white rice into the basin.? "I've never served the Master soup before.? His usual fare is large sections of roasted animal flesh that he simply devours with his teeth."

¡°We isnt lucky for me that you did not bring me here. I chose to come back to your keep just as sure as I choose to come and soothe you now. so I guess the answer to your question is only if I choose to. And based on your stank attitude I choose not too.¡± She still continued to rub. ¡°And as for singing...i will just have teach you as part of your new studies. Lesson one. It helps to make beautiful music when you aren¡¯t a grumpy ogre.¡±

It was then that Angus came in. She smiled at his words. ¡°The soup smells Devine. You did a fine job Angus. I will feed him. I just need another large bowl. And did you leave some bits of chicken in the soup?¡±
