??? Uninvited Bonnie popped up with four cups of grog, passed them out, and took a seat next to Sara, giving her a wink. John raised his eyebrow at the serving wench, but said nothing. ??? ¡°When I was ¡®recovering¡¯ the Lady Kir from Port Royale,¡± John began, sipping his grog, ¡°at the Captain¡¯s request by the way, I was confronted, well actually the Royal Marines were and I was in their company¡ Suffice to say it¡¯s a long story, anywise, we were confronted by a magus wielding an incredible amount of power. He was, apparently, channeling an elemental. A well placed crossbow quarrel broke his concentration, and he lost control of it. I believe he survived, but the elemental slipped his binding and returned to the harbor near here.¡± ??? He took a sip of his grog and expounded. ¡°Magic users leave traces of themselves in the spells they cast, much line fingerprints. I have crossed paths with that magi¡¯s work before. The first time was on the spell that made you, Sara, a zombie before we met. The second when the Seven Fingers captured the Diablo Vega, and the demon they set in a trap nearly tore you to shreds. The third time I sensed his presence through an apprentice when the Seven Fingers was attacked by the fire elemental in Crescent Harbor.¡± He sighed, ¡°and most recently, I felt his presence in the storm that nearly sank us, and sent the Seven Fingers into the repair docks here in Kingston. ??? ¡°For some reason,¡± John said, ¡°he seems to have it out for our little ship. At the very least he is aligned with the Spaniards. If I can find this entity and remove his influence then it won¡¯t be a weapon against the Seven Fingers and His Majesty's Navy. If I can¡¯t neutralize the threat then I¡¯m fairly sure we will be sunk before we reach Grand Cayman and home.¡± ??? The thaumatologist took a deep sigh. ¡°Anyway, that is the task as I see it, and what has delayed my return to the Captain. In the absence of higher ranking officers I have a duty to protect the ship, at the expense of my own life if necessary.¡±? ??? ¡°When you, Sara dear, showed up out of the blue demanding that I return to the Captain, well, I thought you had been enchanted somehow, compromised. I am truly sorry.¡± ??? He took another deep sigh and a swig of grog. ¡°Anywise, I used a spell to temporarily ¡®kill¡¯ the lady Kirschvasser and myself so that we might enter the spirit realm, contact the entity, and perhaps see if you were in need of help.¡± He waved his hands in the air, ¡°and here we are! Ta-Da!¡± ??? ¡° ¡®E talks pretty, ¡®e does,¡± Bonnie interjected. ¡°A bit loquacious, but pretty. Sounds almost like the Cap'n, 'e does.¡± <Kir> ? ?Sat down and was glad to see that Sara had decided to join them. She hoped that this would go well.? ? ?Bonnie popped up and set down four cups of grog, then sat herself. Kir looked to John to gage his reaction. Since he seemed alright with the spirit woman staying Kir felt better. She had not wanted to persuade the woman to leave by asking the woman to show her around seeing how she was new to being dead and all. Not that she could have but she herself didn't want to leave the table either.? ? ?Kir listened as John spelled out what was going on and his thoughts and reasons on why he had acted how he did. She looked to Sara and gave her her best warmest caring smile. "John, we were worried about you and the ship. (looked to John then back to Sara) He may do this kinda thing all the time but myself. I am usually a single minded person. Yet I feel that I have found a family and I worry about family." Tag:John, Sara any
