(Roddy)??
The policeman looked up at the name over the building entrance - The Academy of the Extraordinarily Gifted - then back down at the papers in his hand.? "Seems like this is your lucky day, freak," he said, tugging sharply on the handcuffed prisoner as he headed up the stairs to where a wide set of ornately carved wooden doors were beckoning.? The prisoner, a sullen-looking blond-haired youth, said nothing but followed in the direction he was being led.? Bruises on his face suggested that any resistance had been beaten out of him, but his eyes, which he kept down and staring at the steps he ascended, hinted otherwise.? A second policeman trailed behind the youth, but keeping a wary distance between them and his hand on the butt of the sidearm at his waist.
?
Once inside, the first cop looked around the foyer but couldn't seem to find a place that served as processing station.? "Excuse me," he called out loudly.? "Is there a Ms. Brookes here?? I have a..." he looked back at his prisoner for a moment "...delivery that she needs to sign for."
(Mia/Misty)
Mia had seen the men enter and was quickly making her way down the stairs. She had told the local police several times to not bring the students there in handcuffs and if they were causing trouble, to call for her to come and get them. "Please, remove the handcuffs, I am Ms. Brookes." She informed them and gave a wave to Misty.
"Paper," she said as she reached for the paperwork in the officer's hand. She signed for Roddy and waited for the handcuffs to be removed. She didn't care what he was arrested for, she just knew that he needed a chance. "Welcome to the Academy, Roddy. This is Misty she will help you get settled. Do you have any belongings with you?" She didn't address any of this to the officers. Simply waved them away after they uncuffed the lad.
Misty made her way to stand with Mia and waited until she was introduced before stepping forward to greet the lad.?
