Good bye,” she said turned from the young man. “Again I am sorry. I will talk to Miss Margaret about him. He should not speak to any of you like that. That was completely unacceptable.”

Jaimie opened his mouth to say something but then closed it again, not knowing what to say.? Lord Callum would expect him to obey whatever Mistress Sam asked of him.? But he couldn't stand by and allow such improper familiarity - not to mention insult - shown to Lord Callum, especially from a mere guest? He felt injured by Mistress Sam's words, but he could say nothing.? In the end, he finally bowed to her. ?

"Aye, Mistress Sam," the young ghost said, keeping his eyes down. "As ye wish."? He then quickly departed from the room, leaving Sam alone with Branson. And once he'd closed the door behind him, he promptly vanished.

"To be honest, I could hardly understand a single thing he said," Branson said with a chuckle after Jaimie had left.? "Actually, I'm kind of amazed that you can."

"So, who's this Callum fellow you're talking about?" he said, coming up behind Scheherezade and slipping his arms around her waist.? "One of the locals who's up on his castle lore?" He smiled as he nuzzled her ear.? "Should I be jealous?"

Callum looked up when Jaimie suddenly appeared next to him where he was waiting outside of what had long ago been the castle stables.? "Ah, Jaimie lad.? Did you find Scheherezade?? And did you give her my message?"

"Aye, m' laird," the young ghost said, fidgeting awkwardly sounding apologetic.? "Ah tellt her. Bit a'm feart she is displeased wi' me."

"Why, lad?"? Callum asked, looking concerned.? "Did you say or do something to upset her?"

"Yin o' her mukkers wis speaking in a maist disrespectful manner," Jaimie said, sounding highly distressed.? "He spoke o' ye as if? ye wur a servant!

Callum raised an eyebrow, looking more amused than annoyed.? "Did he now? Well, that will certainly give us something to talk about when ah show her about."
