It was indeed a lot of data. The motherlode, so to speak. As it scrolled across Ekko¡¯s screens Scarlett watched and absorbed the information. Among the abilities Scarlett had acquired from becoming a vampire, which included superior strength, dexterity and speed, she also had heightened senses and the ability to remember things that she saw.
It was a form of eidetic memory, commonly known as a photographic memory. For Scarlett, the scrolling data slowed to a crawl and her mind absorbed a major percentage of it. And she found Ekko was correct ¨C this data was meant for a specific group of people.
Much of it as in vampiric language, which probably appeared as some form of code to Ekko. But Scarlett was able to read and commit much of it to memory.
The cartel was planning to take over Raconteur¡¯s underworld by eliminating rivals like the mob, the yakuza and the posse which currently controlled the area. They were moving a great deal of resources¡soldiers, money, equipment¡from other operations to this area. They had even bought several houses and parcels of property in the area where they were likely housing their incoming workforce and preparing for possible war with their rivals.
She discerned names, faces and other biographical data on some of the players involved from the files Ekko was showing her. When she¡¯d taken enough of it in, she nodded and turned to the hacker.
¡°Can I get this on a portable hard drive to go?¡± the redhead asked. She knew enough already, but she needed the data if she was going to make a case against this cartel with the Vampire Nation.
Ekko
Ekko wasn't a vampire but she was well aware of what she was seeing and reading. And what she read wasn't good. This was the beginning of World War III but on a much large scale than anyone could have ever dreamed. This wasn't good at all. She had heard through the grapevine that big changes were happening in the city. And if this was part of it, it didn't mean anything good for anyone outside the scope or loyalty of any of these groups. And that meant Big Momma needed to know this.?
"yeah sure," she said, beginning to copy what she saw onto a portable drive. A part of her thought about keeping the information for herself and giving Scarlett a fake empty drive, but that wasn't how she did busy. Scarlett paid for the information, so she would get what she paid for. When all the information was downloaded, Ekko turned to Scarlett and said. "So what now?"
