Her shift over, Del made her way to the dance floor where Mia was waiting.? As soon as she set foot on the floor though, the lights began to shimmer and the music shifted to the energetic opening of a famous cover song from the 80's.? A shriek went up from a chorus of female voices in the club and suddenly the dance floor was a flux of motion as women from all over the club converged on the floor, quickly clearing it of men.
?
At Mia's perplexed look, Del yelled gleefully over the music "It's a tradition here at the Elegance.? Whenever Bananarama's Venus comes on, the dance floor is girls-only." She then raised her arms over her head, closed her eyes and began shimmying in front of Mia, dancing fluidly as she and dozens of other women around them began singing along:
?
"Goddess on the mountain top...
Burning like a silver flame...
The summit of beauty and love...
And Venus was her name!"
?
Lowering her arms to hang around Mia's neck, Del opened her eyes again, favoring the woman with their liquid brown intensity, crooning "She's got it... Yeah, baby, she's got it... I'm your Venus, I'm your fire... and your desire."
?
(Mia)
Mia was a little perplexed at the sudden shift on the dancefloor, but once all was explained, she had no problem moving and singing with the music. When Del placed her arms around Mia neck, she moved into her and moved with her. She loved the way they moved together. As the song ended a more sultry one began and Mia slipped her hands more around Del's waist and held the beauty to her as she began leading this dance. She was no longer the kind, gentle Mia that the other group knew, she was now the Mia she loved to be. The sultry gal with a beauty in her arms.
