Khadashee did not move to take his hand. She remained where she stood. She could not say what she knew needed to be said while holding him. The tears continuing to leave her eyes. She shook her head. ¡°This is a fairytale. One where the damsel doesn¡¯t get to live happily ever after.¡±?
She paused to swallow back her pain of what she was about to say. ¡°I will stay with you Draven for as long as it takes to birth our babe. And once the child is two and walking. I must leave you...and go back...or else Bakari will always be searching for me. I won¡¯t put out family at risk. You are all I have left. And I will do whatever is required to protect you.¡±
(Draven)
Draven blinked at her, surprised by what he just heard her say. "No. If you want to know what Bakari wants, then we turn this ship around and head back to where we just left. I am not going to let you leave me and take our child with you. That is not going to happen. It would break me more to have that happen than to go and see this man now." He had stood back up at this point and was waiting for her response. He was deadly serious. He would head back up on deck and have the ship turned around if she decided that was going to be her plan.
