"Gods, you always keep me in the dark!? Why, Etienne," Sicilien growled, watching her walk away from him.? ?He raised his arm to reach out to her, willing his body to move, trying to force his feet forward, but it felt as if the entirety of him was filled with lead.? Even his voice started to sound hoarse from the energy and strength that he put into speaking, feeling entirely frustrated and helpless.? What was he supposed to do now?? Nothing he said was right.? Every word that spilled out of his mouth felt like acid burning his lips.? Maybe it was because he was alone for so long that he even forgot how to speak
?
"Fine," he croaked, sliding down against the stone as he stuck his rifle into the sandy loam.? The night above was beautiful, as were the myriads of stars and the one lone moon whose round face shone like a wheel of yellow cheese.? But, beautiful as they were, it meant nothing to him who felt more alone than ever.? Maybe it was better than he pretend that she is dead to him, but she certainly made it loud and clear that he was dead to her.? What else was he supposed to? Continue to pursue a woman who clearly wanted nothing to do with him?? Chasing was fun only?if the object of your affection left you little bread crumbs to follow, but all he saw now was a barren desert with vultures circling overhead.? "I knew nothing then and I know nothing now, and if that's how it has to be, then so be it.? Whatever makes you happy, love."
?
The last thing he wanted to do was go back to the cave, however.? Callie and Flynn had their own thing going on.? Who knew what was going through Chase's head with the way he's been sneaking peeks at Etienne every time she was within his eyesight.? Those he wished no ill will to the man who seemed to be harboring his own beasts inside his soul.? So he did the only thing he felt would bring him calm. He placed a cigarette between his lips and lit the tail end, taking a nice long drag as he breathed out a column of smoke.

(Old Etienne)
Etienne had to take a moment to gather herself. She couldn't cry...she didn't want to cry...she had been through too much to cry...she wouldn't cry...But damn her she felt the tears in her eyes run down her cheeks.
When she could fight it no more, she rested against the wall of the cave to cry soft body rocking tears. Several moments went by before she gathered her composure enough to go around the rest of them. Damn him. Damn him for doing this to her. For making her feel this way. For being such an asshole.? Damn herself for still loving him so much.?
She came just inside the mouth of the cave, but did not go any further. She nodded to Chase. "I assure you that that won¡¯t be necessary," she said to Calle smiling a weak smile that she hope hid her emotions.

(Old Chase)?
?
Chase rested in the dark, letting the lovers have their time together. ? He reflected on his own lonely past and basked in the fact that this would all be over soon...not soon enough? ?When Flynn and Callie came back from their tryst that he could hear, damn his heightened senses. ? He didn¡¯t look up as Flynn questioned him, he continued to sharpen his blade as that was his only comfort now. ?¡°Do I really have a choice?? Stop the evil or let the world go to shit further.? Whenever you all are quite ready we can go.¡± ?He said calmly devoid of any true emotion.
When Etienne returned without her man and was still well dressed he pondered but said nothing.? He would speak to her in a bit, if she allowed, but even he could smell the tears. ? He felt bad that she was hurt for whatever reason, lovers spat but still, he didn't want her hurt regardless.? Honestly, this was one mission he would be glad would be over¡none too soon! ? ?¡°So did you¡um refuel?¡± ?He glanced up at Flynn briefly, but looking towards the cave entrance waiting for Sicilian to return shortly.

(Old Callie Carson)
Callie finished buttoning the last button on her shirt as Chase spoke. She looked up at him and cocked a smile, "He's fully recharged. My work here is done."
?
The redhead then looked over at Etienne, relieved she was OK after she'd briefly disappeared outside. "Gave us a scare. Stay close," she asked, with a faint smile. "I think we're about ready to continue on toward Miller's Crossing."
?
(New - Flynn)
?
The Pookah couldn't help but smile himself at Chase's question and Callie's cheeky response.? "Yeah," he said, gathering up his gear.? "If I was any more refueled, I'd be lit up like Bourbon Street at Mardi Gras and shootin' out glamour every which way."
?
Looking around the cave, Flynn saw Callie and Chase nearby, and Etienne hovering just inside the entrance.? He frowned slightly, giving the cave another look around. "Where's Sicilian?? I'm ready to go but we gotta be together.? Especially if'n we take the route I'm thinkin' about takin'."
