¡°I did not run from him,¡± Anais snapped. Her voice slightly elevated. They had no idea how much it hurt when Draven never came for her. When he didn¡¯t come for her.
She sighed closing her eyes to calm herself...push back the pain and tears. Steady her breathing. ¡°I simply decided I was done the lies and deceit and half trues. And I never denied who I am. Just because you think I did does not make it true.¡±
Anais came back to sit in the chair then. She crossed her legs demurely at the ankle and placed her hands in her lap. ¡°So I am here as bait for Lord Draven. You are hoping that once he either knows I¡¯m here that he will come for. I am telling you that you are wasting both my time and your own. I have it on good authority that Lord Phillips has know of my arrival in Europe the minute I touched down in Paris. That was over four months ago. He did not come for me his pregnant betrothed then and he will not come for me now. So if it¡¯s money you seek, You will have better luck with my brother Mecal. No matter I have my own and if you would be so kind to please tell me what your preferred method of payment is. I can have funds transferred into your accounts posthaste. I am not feeling well and I would like to spend the upcoming evening tucked snuggly within the warmth of my bed. Not tied uncomfortably to yours.¡±

Chantel raised an eyebrow at the lady, "You may not have denied who you were, but you were insisting that you were someone named Evie, not the Lady Anais."? Chantel went to the door and gave three knocks.? An answer came and a little while later, while the two were continuing to talk, a girl came to the door with a small box and a journal.
In the meantime of that happening:
"Interesting that you think that, as Lord Phillips had only arrived in Paris a few nights ago.? Do you not think that if he knew you were here before that he would have come to get you.? Why are you so sure that he didn't try to find you?? You after all weren't the one that fled the United States, came to Europe and assumed a completely different identity."
She paused and laughed at the mention of money. "My dear girl, this has far more to do with than money.? If it was only about money you would have been sold to the highest bidder, not remained as Vincent's property."? She collected the box and journal from the girl at the door then closed it once again.? "Take a look for yourself."

In the box were photos of Draven from when Anais had left.? There were photos of him running through the streets with a look of desperation on his face.? There were photos of him destroying different parts of their mansion.? There was a photo of him with the twins, Dru and Hell.? He was giving Hell to them and looked very solemn.
The journal contained first dated, timed, and very accurate recordings as to what he was doing in trying to find her.? The writings were filled with anguish and apologies.? There were parts that were stained with red from his blood tears.? He was in terrible heart break.? The second to the last entry sounded hopeful as to him learning that she had been seen at the airport.
The last entry:
Today is the last day.? I no longer know where my betrothed, my beloved, my love Anais is.? I have searched for months.? I have exhausted many of my funds with trying to find her.? Today I will turn off my humanity so that I will no longer feel the ache both in my heart and on my mark.? Be well, my love.? I hope you and the babies will be safe and happy, wherever you are.? I am sorry.
