"I'm not in, uhm, enslaved or nothin'," Rabbit said, crawling onto the bed and stretching out on his side so that he was facing Roue.? His young face grew serious as he tried to explain the situation. "And that ain' why I, uhm, you know, w-work here.? I work here 'cause it's s-safe. And I got friends here. S-sorta anyways."
The little vampire fidgeted a bit, feeling the need for closer contact, for the comforting warmth of the elf's body.? He scooted closer on the bed until they were almost face to face, moving his right leg so that it became entwined with Roue's. He reached up and began to run his fingers through his lover's long silken locks, paying attention to the delicate outlines of Roue's pointed ears.
"But like I t-told you," he went on, "information is the most valuable thing in the Dionysus.? And if you want information, you g-gotta, you know, have something to trade for it.? Some folks've got information to trade, but I usually don' really have nothin' like that.? Some folks have money, lots of money, that sometimes can buy information, but I ain' got any of that to speak of n-neither.? And some folks've got, you know, power out in the world, and so they trade favors for information. Or for other favors.? Depending on what it is they, you know, w-want."
Rabbit scooted closer still, until he was snuggling along Roue's warm side, resting his head on his lover's chest, listening to the other's heartbeat for a long moment.? "I ain' got n-none of them things.? All I've got to trade for stuff is, uhm, me.? You know, like doin' p-personal favors.? Sometimes it's simple things.? Like, you know, s-sex stuff."? His voice trailed off to a whisper and he didn't look up as he said it.? "That's easy.? But sometimes it's more, you know, complicated."??
"I was paying off a complicated favor," Rabbit went on, sighing a bit.? "That's why I was gone so long. But I also asked some questions, and so now I owe another f-favor."
The little vampire propped himself up on an elbow so that he could meet Roue's gaze.? "But I got some information for it.? Stuff you probably will wanna know."? He ran his fingers down the elf's ear and then across his delicate cheek. "But if'n I tell you," he murmured, looking wistful and serious at the same time, "I might need your help payin' off that favor.? So, do you w-wanna know?? What I f-found out, I mean?"

As Rabbit spoke, getting quieter and quieter, Roue just listened laying on his back a bit as the little vampire ran his hands through the elf's long locks.? When he wrapped his leg around Roue, then wizard turned to his lover, his eyes searching the others.? He wondered what made Rabbit so jittery all the time, if it was just his nature or if there was something else.
"I don't know what information I could possibly have that would be of use to anyone in this place, but I hear you," he sighed, turning his head back as Rabbit scooted closer to him.? The little vampire always felt much cooler to the elf's typically warmer body, but it was a nice effect.? Like gentle fire nestled against an icy stone.? As her got closer, Roue wrapped his arm around his lover's shoulders and pulled him in closer, cradling his head in his palm as he gently fingered his ear, lazily tracing his jaw with his fingertips.? "I promise that I'll try to keep a tighter lid on my own secrets, but...you said this place was safe, but could someone gain entry into under the guise of good intentions, but really intending to do malevolent harm?"? But as Rabbit continued, revealing his body as the only currency that he had, Roue couldn't help but feel upset about that, his heart rate increasing as he continued to think about it.? He felt his fingers curled around Rabbit's collar unintentionally, but when he realized what a white knuckled grip he had, Roue loosened his hold and moved so that Rabbit lay beneath him, using one arm to prop himself, the other possessively tracing patterns on Rabbit's hip.
"But do you have to always pay for things with your body?? Couldn't you just hold it as debt and pay it off as you go along?" he asked, but when Rabbit looked at him, seeking comfort rather than reprimand, he clammed up, biting his lip.? It wasn't his place, it wasn't his place, the elf repeated to himself.? You've only know him for how long and you're getting jealous, why?? Because you fucked him once?? What a farce.? He breathed out his frustration, leaning down to kiss his host and then pulled back, gently palming his cheek as he smiled at him.? Rabbit was already doing so much for him.? The least he could do was keep his mouth shut and help him.
"Yes, I am very curious to hear what you've found," Roue echoed as Roue traced his ear, much like Palyndra did.? His cheeks colored, feeling ashamed that he thought of someone else.? "And I will help you pay for that.? Whatever it takes, okay?? It's the least I can do for you."
