(Luke) ¡°I got that,¡± Luke agreed. ¡°But in my world there are two kinds of respect, the kind you earn through hard work and success or from holding a big gun to your head. I don¡¯t care for the second kind of respect. All I can think of is the old saying, ¡°You can¡¯t teach an old dog new tricks.¡±
He paused and looked out over the little town. The gulf was out of sight and that troubled him. ¡°I don¡¯t hate Vampires. We¡¯ve lived with them for a long time and I guess our kids and their kids will. They know if they start real trouble in the human community it will bite them back. So they do, you do what you have to do to keep a certain profile. I can¡¯t say I know exactly what it¡¯s like to be in a minority group but it hasn¡¯t gone well for many ethnic humans in this country. As long as everyone behaves according to the basic rule of law I¡¯m a supporter. I might have a problem knowing how to support exactly but I¡¯m not out to get anyone just because they are in the minority.¡±
Luke chuckled. ¡°Can¡¯t wait to tell my Were friends. They are going to howl like dogs!¡±
He pulled out his phone, ¡°I¡¯m happy to have you on our side in this. What¡¯s your number? We can exchange and keep the information rolling. I suspect you will stake out this new outfit?¡±
(Kitty) After wrapping things up with the Prince, Kitty released that dawn was near and she was starting to feel sleepy. The conversations between the others still played in her head when she climbed naked into her deep red satin sheets. (Exit Kitty)

Scarlett handed Luke another card. She figured he probably no longer had the one she'd given him on their first meeting. She smiled, "Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot," she said. "Get a hold of me tomorrow night, I'm thinking I'll be ready to run a little surveillance on the house where they're staying." The redhead then turned and headed off to return to her bike and make her way back to her apartment. As she disappeared into the night, she called back to Reardon, "And remember what I said about dealing with my people...I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just offering my advice. Take care." A short time later she was headed back to her apartment so she could be inside before sunrise....
