WILSON West Leeds 1800 to 1900

Josiah Wilson born Oct 1856.? Richmond Court (Banks area). My GGF.? Having trouble confirming his parents, John Wilson (B 1822) (my GGGF) and Ann Wilson (nee Akeroyd B:1823).? Problem: John and Ann married 1841, first child 1856? Unusually long time.? Can't find records of any other children alive/dead. Maybe John in Gaol, Military, Sailor, can't find any records.?
Also John's father (Thomas Wilson, my GGGGF) listed as "Hairdresser".? Not sure he was doing coiffure in those days, so maybe something to do with cloth making etc? Any ideas??
