It will be a class in spoken Yiddish (Northern Ukrainian accent) for total beginners, with oral participation required and outside "homefun" and review highly recommended.? The class will cover greetings and goodbyes, introductions, family terms, questions and answers about yourself and your origins, activities, numbers, describing things, and mainly expressions involving the here-and-now (so almost exclusively the present tense).? No textbook is required and no familiarity with the Hebrew alphabet will be assumed (all of the materials will be in the Roman script, sometimes in printed Yiddish, as well.)?
