and then join us for a panel discussion. The film tells the story of someone who crisscrossed
Ukraine with a phonograph in hand during dramatic years of Soviet history to record the
traditional music of Ukrainian Jewry. Many of the people who sang for him were later murdered
by the Nazis. Beregovsky's efforts saved much of Yiddish musical heritage from being lost.
