The Mew Gull continues this afternoon at Willow, often drifting on the water near some Ring-billeds.? Again, too distant for photos, but three of us studied it through the scope.? All features seem to match with a 2nd winter Mew Gull.? And, based on the new obs, I have to make a correction -- the gull does seem to have a dark spot or band close to the tip of its yellow bill ---- this also fits with 2nd?year winter Mew.? It seems to be the same size as a Coot.

If it stays in the same area:? After parking at south shore, take the main trail to the right, then down to the water's edge. Scope necessary.
