Is it Ok to post items for sale on this group?
I do not know David. This group has been silent for a long time. I would like to see it get active. Is there still a monitor?? I would? say?post your stuff and see what happens. I doubt anyone is going to slap your wrist.? Chuck Peck? On Sun, Mar 19, 2023 at 6:54?PM Bradt Family <dabradt@...> wrote: Greetings, |
开云体育I agree with Charles. Post your list, David. An inactive group is a great place to invoke the adage, "Evolve or die." If a purist who remembers the original mission of the group wants to challenge the three of us, that purist should be posting material
related to the original purpose.

I looked in the archives and it's been done a couple of times before and I didn't see any complaints. Wil On Tue, Mar 21, 2023 at 9:44?AM rcjge <jgpedwards@...> wrote: Amen from here! |
开云体育Please go ahead and post. The original purpose of this group left when Yardbird train’s owner retired. So far as I am concerned, any legitimate posts about MODEL RAILING is just going to help keep it alive John Hagen ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Wil Davis

Thank you for the feedback so here is what I would like to sell (See attached photos) today.
A group? of 3 Tyco/Mantua General Locomotives and 10 old time cars.? Two of the engines and some of the cars were part of two civil war series sets.? There is an additional General locomotive along with a couple of other cars.? All are DC.? Tried testing them and? the motors do work kind of and they moved a little bit but they definitely need some maintenance.?? Looked on Ebay and found General locomotive kits and assembled going for around $80+. Would really like to sell the whole thing as a one lot. Since the engines really don't run now, I thought for the lot asking $70 ($20/loco and $1/car) and assume about $10 shipping so $ 80 total.?? Would prefer to use PayPal and I can send an invoice. Let me know if anyone is interested. if no one here interested will probably put it on EBay soon. A lot of sentimental value as this was my brother and mine second train sets. Looking to find a good home.? Maybe use in a diorama. Thanks again for the support and hope this gets this site going again. David? |
开云体育Hello, David.?
I would like to purchase your lot of three engines and ten cars for your asking price of $80 including shipping. They will go to the model railroad museum being developed aboard an original 1941-vintage SP "Daylight" passenger car.?
We can do a nice interpretive display with photographs of the real locomotives "General" and "Texas." We will include manageable-sized images of the posters from the movies, "The Great Locomotive Chase," and the Buster Keaton silent classic, "The General."
The model RR value? The Civil War Centennial, 1961-1965, corresponded to the high water mark for themed train set sales, from Lionel and American Flyer to HO gaining dominance. Now, if I can just find a good photo of the Civil War train set boxes from these
or Lionel's bigger set...
So please email me and we'll sort-out getting you paid and the trains shipped.
Thanks and best,
