Re: Looking for a Mantua bearing
Dave,
This is a possibility but making one of these bearings is the last resort for me. I have plenty of projects to keep me busy until one of them turns up and sooner or later it will.

Re: Looking for a Mantua bearing
I found two in the bin.
Shaft that fits is .101", OD is .230, length is .155.
So probably not for the Mantuas.

Re: Looking for a Mantua bearing
When I restored my three, I found parts locos....didn't mind stripping out a Zamac-Rot chassis.
Let me look in the parts bin.
If Dan was still around, he'd have had them.

Re: Looking for a Mantua bearing
Dave,
Thanks for the tip on the early Mantua Mike. It's not one I'm familiar with so I didn't realize it also has the 6303 bearing. I'll keep an eye out for one but I'd still like to find just one

Re: Looking for a Mantua bearing
The size you gave looked familiar. I just checked, the Version one and Version 2 Mikado (gearbox bolts down to the frame) is a 6303 at both

Re: Henry Hultgren
Getting to that point. The 3-rail is staying in the basement, the LS outside...even tho with lockdowns haven't had a revenue run in 11-1/2 months.
I've got what I thought was over 30 restored engines,

Re: Looking for a set of Varney F Unit front* trucks...
Spring drive, with three grooves, were on the three piece gear boxes, same as the Brute drivers.
The one piece gears boxes with the open bottoms (i.e. Walt Disney or Mickey Mouse) were the same for F

Re: Looking for a set of Varney F Unit front* trucks...
Hi John,
Mine both; A&B units are spring belt models...
