Varney itself also used the straight sided cylinders at some point. An old ad shows then on a 10 wheeler also (with valve gear).

The Varney Old Lady cylinders slanted inward at the top. The Bowser version used cylinders that were basically straight

I have an Old Lady by Varney. I know Bowser reworked these kits and changed the cylinders and frames. Does anyone know if the newer style Bowser cylinders will fit the old style Varney

I have the boiler, frame extension, decapod chassis and tender but no air tank or other detail parts. I am sure I will never lay my hands on that original Cary air tank but should be able to scrounge
