I have 2 of the penn line decapods #5749 is a stock Penn Line. The one nearest #3446 is a Cary conversion. Both with long haul tenders and detailed differently. I'll put a few pictures in . They can use some touching up after 10 years in their boxes.

Hi Dean, The CB&Q Aristo craft 0-4-0 was a much smaller locomotive and a switcher with a tender. The drive was completely different. The Aristo-Craft HO die cast steam locos were also made by the "New One Company" as was the two mystery ones 0-4-0 saddle tankers NH #60 and B&O #62. But these were not the only companies that imported New One made trains The Ho Train Company (HOTCO) imported a few, was also known as GHC. Offhand I know of there different New One made locos sold by them. The CNJ 4-6-0, the 4-4-2 Atlantic and the 0-4-0 Camelback.? Aristo-Craft had the most different models made by New One. Silvine had the side tank 0-4-0t they named Teakettle. B&0 #25 made by New One. This is the locomotive that make me favor that Silvine was the company that had something to do with these two mistery 0-4-0's. Favoring and knowing are two different things. So the mystery remains.

Thank you Chuck, my mistake! I posted photos and info on a N1s type loco in a N1s thread and typed in the name decapod. I am definitely not the sharpest tack in the box. At my age I'm just glad to be able to share stuff. Thanks again for the nice way you worded it. Oh by the way deca refers to the number 10. TO not waste a chance to share more here is a photo of a Westside Brass N1sa.

The Espee was not about to name any of their locomotives Santa Fe, or for that matter, Northern (Pacific).

These models have all the hallmarks of a line of die-cast models imported by Aristo-Craft in the early '60's.? See the ad on p. 24 of the Feb. 1963 Model Railroader if you subscribe to their archive.? That CB&Q 1880's 0-4-0 might be the same mechanism as shown on these models.??

[Reason: Both engines 60 and 62 have the same size and type box but with no retailers, or importers name name. #60 UP box enven matches the color but not the texture of the original Silvine box. #62 box it of a different color. I am guessing that they are Silvine locos.]
Here is all three together in their boxes. Just so you know Ken sent me B&O 62 around a year ago. These two new ones # 60 and 62 are still the only two one of a kinds ever seen. Yes the request is still going for any catalog or Sales info on these two very different 0-4-0ts made by New One of Japan.

Sean our starting to speak like the Buss. From what info I could get it may be a one of a kind. No one out there in computerland has seen a before. I am still waiting for someone to Identify either New Haven 60 or B&O 62 as to company who released them. All guesses have been Silvine.?

Re: N1S 2-10-2

Minor matter but Decapod usually refers to a 2-10-0.
The 2-10-2 is more often referred to as a Santa Fe type.? I have heard?
that the Southern Pacific did at some time call the 2-10-2 a Decapod?
but as far as I am aware, this was the only road that had that usage.

Here's another look at the N1sa I made It was just a cabless boiler when i got at a train show. I used a long distance tender and a cab from a bachmann K4 that fell apart. My pilot I scratch built..

Jeff then you have your work cut out for you. You need a big air tank and must build a platform to mount it on,?
?here is one as built with cary supplied parts. it just doesn't have the right front pilot.

Here is another example of a PRR K2 class locomotive. This one is a custom Built model I acquired at the Allentown Merchants Square Mall on 9-9-2017. It is a hand made, custom built model made by a unknown modeler.?

I am getting into this about one year late. Sean is one heck of a train collector. His collection brings together all the old HO scale trains you can think of and for me he is the one who always answers my questions. I can't give anything but guesses to add to the text of this post, but i can add photos of the in question Authenticast box. Also I can add a question of my own to this conversation on this train companies box.?
First the photos;

The box top is the interesting because it has more pictures. to left side are three of Mantua.s metal line freight car with colored, printed and embossed paper sides the gondola, the tank car and the reefer. To the right on the bottom is a Mantua 0-4-0 camelback, above it a Mantua old time passenger car. and last above it a questionable 2 bay hopper I recognize but don't know who made it. the box side have 4 more Mantua Locomotives a hopper and a bridge. I dont have the answers as to why those pictures are their. Only who made the Hoppers and the bridge. If you click on the small box top it gets bigger. Anyone else got any ideas. In Sean's opening post he gives the answer to the hoppers but maybe not the bridge.

The Blimp Cars are one of my favorites. Over a lot of time almost 50 years of collecting trains I have 6 different ones. I'll show them here.?
They were made by AHM. Athearn, Cannonball, Kriss-Kraft, and Model power. Athearn made it in both 40' and 50' types. There are 2 color combinations Black and Silver, and Pink and Silver.
I hope you like them also.

The K5 locomotives came in 1929, 28 or so years before the end of Pennsy Steam. They were essentially K4s with Decapod boilers. They were followed by the 100 M1as, the 125 J1 and J1as, the S1 and the S2, the Q1 and the 26 Q2s and the 52 T1s.

Immaterial.. I do everything I can to keep my name (actual) disassociated with postings anywhere.
I have dropped out of newsgroups, web forums, lists when it became "mandatory", usually based upon
one or more people squeaking about "real names".

Thanks.

Tells me where this is eventually headed,

Won't see your response, as after all these years I am off unsubscribing.

This Mantua/Cary/MDC version turned out really nice. It compares favorably with the brass model.

I did not know Don made a K2 boiler in his Cary line. But it looks good. And the detailing you did is well done also.

Somewhere along the line when Mantua sold to Model Power which sold to Model Rectifier Corp. the Mantua Classics version of the Pacific switched to spoked drivers. I have no idea of how easy or difficult getting a set of them would be, but it would help with make it look even more prototypical.

Here is another of my K2 locomotives. This one is a Cary, Mantua, MDC version. It has the Cary casted K2 diecast conversion boiler, mounted on a Mantua 4-6-2 drive. A low side MDC tender gives a appporate look to this K2 class pacific. This much better copies the look seen on photos of the K2 class.
