Re: More PRR ?

Henry, list,

Take what you like from what follows and enjoy your railroad. :)?

I never bought a Model Power Baldwin Sharknose diesel, and looking at photos of the model, I'm not sure if the model represents the earlier DR 4-4-1500 or the later RF16.? I'm leaning towards RF16, but I don't know with certainty, so I'll give you roster info from Douglas and Weiglin's PRR Diesel book for both the DR 4-4-1500s and the RF16s.??

PRR's Sharknose freight units were all Dark Green Locomotive Enamel (often called Brunswick Green).??

PRR's DR 4-4-1500 A units were 9568A-9593A and 9700-9707A.? B units were 9568B-9593B and 9700-9707B.??

PRR's RF16 units were 2000-2027A, 9594A-9599A, and 9708A-9745A.? The RF16 B units had even numbers only (unlike the DR 4-4-1500s). The RF16B units were 2000B-2026B, 9708B-9714B, 9728B-9744B, and 9594B-9598B.? ?

PRR's Sharknose freight units had the 5 stripe scheme (like most PRR passenger diesels) but with the Dulux Gold color.??

Looking at photos of the Model Power FAs, they look like FA1 units with the rear carbody louvers right next to the back wall of the carbody.? Real FA2 units had about a 2 foot distance between the end of the carbody louvers and the back wall of the cab.??

PRR's FA1 units were also Dark Green Locomotive Enamel.? PRR's FA1 A units were 9600A-9607A and the B units were 9600B-9607B.? PRR's FA1 units had PRR's single stripe Dulux Gold freight lettering.??
