New post same problems :(

Hi everyone hope you are well. Last week was alot for me but im back trying to get the QY100 working with my midi controller :D
just to summarize my problem, I have a Korg nanoKONTROL2 that I have plugged into my pc. I have the software for it installed and im running ableton as my DAW. Im just trying to be able to change the envelopes and parameters of the samples in the QY100 with the nanoKONTROL2...
Sorry if this post is spam or bloat, I dont mean for it to be I just want this fixed and figured a new thread might simplify some issues...
?
also if anyone has their QY100 plugged into a Scarlett solo do you ever get white noise in your mix? its really annoying. Might just be a cable though...

additional question... if im gonna try out the QY100 mic effects what kind of cable would I need? I know something with xlr in and a 1/4 out but should I go TS or not?

Not to be rude or avoiding the question, but I think reading the manual is a must. It should specify what you need (TS).

you're right but there are two problems 1. I dont know what I'd be looking for 2. the manual is over 200 pages :D

Well, anyone who knows ANY device inside and out has read the manuals. 200 is not much, and it’s well written!

I did even study the midi implementation, which is way better than the QY700.

damn ig you're right cause its either the manual here or nowhere since I cannot get a good answer about how to get this thing working in ableton >:(

1/ figure out how to send midi and midiCCs onwards thru abelton to a hardware device
(read manual, ignore the nanocontrol, use something else)
2/ read the manual for your nanocontrol2, to figure out how to put it in CC mode and assign CC numbers to the controls.
it probably can't do enough midiCCs for the whole of the QY, and you'd be better off with something like the RemoteSL, which does already have a QY mapping made for it (not aware of anyone else having mapped a controller to QY).
?
nobody here is attempting to do what you're wanting to do. i have a nanocontrol here but want to get rid of it, as the drivers just messed up my computer more, and i'm not going to attempt it again. the Novation has 40 pages to store templates to. doubt you can do that with the korg.
?
the nanocontrol is really intended to be used with DAWs and plugins and assigned on the fly, i think. but it can send midiCCs too. thing is, you can't set up multipage edit templates with it by the look of things.
?
the other way would be to have/make a VST plugin editor for the QY, sending out necessary messages, and you assign the nanocontrol with midilearn as and when you need it. wouldn't be my go-to solution - but that's probably how you use it now with plugin synths?

the mapping for the nanokontrol is easy it seems but because im new to this hobby I have no idea why the two arent communicating. hence my frustration and spam XD
but thank you for the first point I will try to look deeply into this so thank you THANK YOU

general question about maintaining the health of the QY100. I am using a 12 volt audio technica ac cable to power my QY100 (its the same power cord that powered my AT-LP120) I got my QY100 used without a powercord, and it does work with this power cord but I am a little worried I might be damaging it...

Probably the best way to make all the pieces play nicely together, is through process of elimination—
Narrow it down to the fewest possible points of failure.
This is how I would approach it:
1:
Make sure you know how to send midi data to the QY from Live at all, separate from thinking about sending it via the controller. Trying to send notes to it from a MIDI clip would be the easiest way. If that's not working, then nothing else will.?
2:
Once you have successfully sent MIDI data to the device, turn off the QY and just focus on ensuring that your controller is sending data into Live properly.
An easy way to test that, is load in one of the built-in synths onto a track, Operator for example. Then right-click with your cursor over the Volume knob on that synth and select 'Edit MIDI Map'. Lots of UI elements will now have a color overlaid on them and the MIDI Mappings panel will open on the left. Just move one of the faders on the nanokontrol. If Live detected the input, a new list entry will appear in the Mappings panel, showing the CC# and the assigned control. If that worked, delete the mapping and hit escape to leave the mapping mode, but if it didn't work, then you'll know there's an issue with your controller setup.
3:
If both of those things worked, and the CC# that Live registered was what you had intended (based on your assignments in the Kontrol Editor software), then it must be simply be an issue of correctly setting the controller as the MIDI input to a track and setting the MIDI output of that same track to point to the QY, then arming the track, so the MIDI will get passed through it when you move the faders.
?
Apologies if I missed part of this saga and you've already confirmed one of these aspects to be working, hope it helps!
