I've just found this wayback machine link to the now defunct article on scope-eye ( https://web.archive.org/web/20201111183544/http://scope-eye.net/?p=748 ) you

Re: QY100 display light
Ah, I didn't realise it would require removing the reflective film. Have you got a link to the GS thread you're referring to?
The one I posted is just about replacing the LEDs on the AN1x, nothing

Re: Low back-up battery display
'sequencing tips'... i'm thinking HARD about a little Arturia KeyStep... kind of undecided about the more expensive and bigger 37key version with more features that would also make a lot of sense. -

Re: Low back-up battery display
Pretty sure you can still save to the SmartMedia card with a dead internal battery (but must be done manually), but you’ll really want to replace that internal battery since loss of external power

Re: Low back-up battery display
SVG- I had the same issue when I returned to my QY-70 after a 20 year hiatus. What you need is a new lithium battery. I bought the Energizer 2032 at Walmart. It’s about the size of a dime. If

Re: QY100 display light
Hi Douglas,
I also spotted that thread, but in the end I can assure that the
gameboy frontlight is a 20 minute job, whereas the sidelighting has that
margin of risk-taling I'm not so fond of.

Low back-up battery display
Greeting & salutations all:
I am glad to see there is a community for these! The bad news would be that I got out my QY100 for the first time since I won it in an EBay auction towards the beginning

Hi Douglas
first and foremost, no LOCA glue, no irreversible operations, no risk
taking with our precious QYs! Just two stripes of (rather powerful!)
double sided sticky tape. My only advice is work

Re: Qy100 blank screen
That’s a good point about the battery leak possibility. ?It’s worth mentioning if you mix baking soda (not baking powder) with vinegar it will actually help dissolve battery corrosion even more

Are you using batteries or AC? I had my QY70 working fine on AC, but it flaked on batteries. Much like you describe. I opened it to try to fix some dead horizontal lines on the screen and saw
