?Hi there, thought I'd share this, in case it might be useful to someone¡ª I recently did a backlight mod for the QY70 using a single LED filament bulb and iPhone diffuser panel (with LEDs removed, they require too much current), cut to fit exactly behind the LCD.?
The adhesives were pretty strong and it was too much of a hassle to keep the original polarizer intact, so I peeled it down to the glass and cut a new polarizer sheet also, after discerning the correct angle.
Some of the excess foil backing from the diffuser is wrapped around the filament bulb and taped down to ensure maximum light travel into the edge of the diffuser.
It's not particularly easier than the version using an EL panel, but my experience with EL is that they produce a high pitched whine, so LED seemed much preferable. The impact on battery life is minimal, so I didn't bother with a power switch for the light.?
If this is of interest, it was all purchased via eBay. Listings expire, so here are the item titles:

"Backlight for Apple iPhone 6 CDMA GSM Replacement" $7
"LED Filament Lamp Lights For Edison Bulbs Home Lighting 3V 38mm" $8
"Polarizer/Diffusor Film for Apple iPad Mini 4 Polarized Polarizing Sheet" $6
