Moving the list

YamahaQY70AndQY100 has their Groups.io group up and running. Only 11 members so far. I’m not sure how big it is on Yahoo. VintageKorg is up with Polysix, Drums, MS-series and Tape subgroups. I believe MonoPoly will be added next. Poly800 is thinking about it.
The Polysix group did a GoFundMe to get the funds for a year of the premium service in order to get the migration tools to get everything from the Yahoo group. It took one day to get enough money. They started the new group as VintageKorg and made Polysix a subgroup.
With 3300 members of YamahaDX it would average out to 3 cents each to pay for a 10GB plan with migration tools, or just 110 people willing to give $1.

Correct, Edward.

If you look at the group, or any group, on the Yahoo website, you should see a yellow banner, near the top of the page, which says:

Attention: Starting December 14, 2019 Yahoo Groups will no longer host user created content on its sites. New content can no longer be uploaded after October 28, 2019. Sending/Receiving email functionality is not going away, you can continue to communicate via any email client with your group members.
?
So, all Yahoo groups will soon just be mailing lists, with no history or file storage.

While we’re thinking about options for moving the list, other board systems that have been suggested on the Kurzweil K1000-K1200 group are and?. Has anyone heard of these or checked them out? Maybe it could be another option for this group?

Hope this helps,
David
