I'm new to this group, hence the late answer.
I actually had a similar issue with a DX7: sometimes it booted up Ok, but most of the time, it hanged with cryptic glyphs on the LCD.
To cut long (debug) story short, I monitored the timing between poweron and the /RESET signal (pin 6 on 63B03 = IC60) with an oscilloscope. Datasheet says on boot, it should stay low for 100 ms, but?in my case, it went high after 40 ms.
The cause was the 10/16 tantalum close to the battery (in K2 on the schematic); I replaced it, and everything went OK.

I prefer Digikey as I've received batteries with low voltage twice in a row from Mouser.
At the very least, measure the voltage before soldering the battery in.

Did the same with on a DX7 I fixed, and my own TX816.
Got a 10-pack of battery holders for peanuts at Alibaba. The spacing of pins is a bit larger than the original battery, but the pins are long enough to be nicely bent with a pair of pliers.
My DX7 is claiming for a new battey... after 34 years! In the user guide, battery life expectation was given 5 years ;-)

I fitted a CR2032 battery holder and battery to my DX7.

I get my batteries from Mouser Electronics.? Never had a problem, as
long as the pinout matches.

Re saving files from yahoo groups -- which theoretically will be available thru Dec 13, if we trust yahoo......
Try at different times, it has seemed to us very variable as to how accessible yahoo group files are being.
Re what files get accurately saved, in the transfer to groups.io -- in the groups we had transferred, some files were accurately copied, some you see the name of the file but click on it and just get a string of gibberish, no content -- and I believe this wasn't groups.io 's error, but due to difficulties with yahoo groups platform.
Also --
We have some DX7 patches that are the best trying-to-get-as-close-to-a-B3-as-possible-on-a-DX7 sounds we've encountered, at some point we'd love to share them -- we're capable of putting them on a cartridge, haven't learned yet how to manipulate / copy / save etc. patches as computer files.? We got them many years ago, from an ad in Music Connection magazine in Los Angeles -- from a studio pro person who'd made them, they were moving away from DX7 into later version of stuff.? Gesine?

I would guess that 开云体育 needs to lease a large amount of server time
and storage ( probably from Amazon) immediately to handle the surge. The real
test of whether it is worth the cost for us will be what happens to the prices
next year after things have settled down.

It may not be that simple. Moving blocks of files, photos, and
archives posts from many groups at one time is not a trivial task.
If hundreds or even thousands of groups are trying to migrate at the
same time, servers and other hardware may find it difficult to keep
up with the traffic. 开云体育 may need to add/rent servers or
bandwidth, add staff, etc. They are not a charity, and the must
recoup their costs. We can argue about the actual price, but this
situation is not so different from a supermarket before a big storm;
or refreshments at a festival
There is a note on 开云体育 today that says that the Photos section
of Yahoo Groups seems to be broken or erratic right now; and that
they may not be able to migrate all of the photos before time's up,
if this situation continues.
The real 'bad guy' here is Yahoo, IMHO. It would have been nice to
have a couple of months' heads-up before the site was shutting
down. As it is, we had about two weeks' warning on being able to
add files.

I thought I'd got everything, but it seems not.? The individual files in your list, from the top level folder, are just empty web pages - and if I click one of those from the Yahoo site, that's also what I get.
I seem to have all of the files from Grey Hair Patches, and vol1 is intact from Yamaha-DX7_Collection_for_FM7, but not vol2 or F7Sounds.zip? - those are just very short files that don't open as zips.
I'll try to email you what I have, as an attachment, in a zip.

In my effort to move the files from YamahaDXFiles to 开云体育 I stumble over a couple of files/directories which fail to download whatever I try. If someone has those files locally could you either pls. upload them to YamahaDX@开云体育 or sent them to me ?
