GlennYou might find the url below of some interest. If nothing else it might be a good starting point to find other information on fm systhesis. I once had a TX81Z midied to a DX7. Together, I got some pretty good sounds. I just recently aquired a DX7II FD and found I had forgotten most of what I knew about FM. Programed and processed well FM can produce some very satisfying sounds. "imho", especially for the buck. If I run across any other info I will let you know. Good luck in your quest of FM knowledge. Good online sites for 4-op FM Programming?
Greetings; Since last week I've been the delighted new owner of a
Yammy TX81Z, and I've been spending hours every nite sifting through the mountains of patch bank material available online, much of it quite good and some of it excellent. But I got this module w/ the intent of learning how to become reasonably competent at FM programming...that's my self-imposed requirement before buying a synth w/ more serious FM capability (such as an FS1R). I've managed to find dribs and drabs on info on the net about FM Programming, but no mastersource that can leave me w/ a clearer understanding...can any one point me in the right direction? Eventually I'll track down what appears to be the DX/TX Bible, the text by Chowning and Bristol (I think I recall the names correctly, even if I can't remember the exact title of the book). With the former author being basically the inventor of FM synthesis, and the book apparently taking a highly practical approach (as opposed to just theoretical), it sounds like a must-read for FM enthusiasts...but I figure the more you know before dipping into it, the more you'll get out of the text. Regards Glenn |

atari ...
j.gray
I know it's a long way to go for just some voices but if you're looking for a good sequencer as well someone is ditching an atari ST w/ cubase for $65 on harmony central's classifieds ... maybe you could talk him down a bit.

DX7 II performances
Steven Clements
I've got some on Atari formatted floppies... with a "loader" that sends them to your DX7II via the atari midi port. I would love to have copies of these to send to everyone (happy happy joy joy) but I no longer have an atari... Does anyone out there have an atari and a DX7II?

DX7 II performances
Does anyone have any DX7 II performances that they can upload to the
files section? Or can you tell me a site that has DX7 II performances? There are many sites with DX7 patches. But I cannot find any that have sounds already mapped into DX7 II performances using Dual, Mono, and Split modes. Thanks, Alphonso |
DX7 / DX7II Patch editor
I've just found a DX7II editor, the page is here:
Does anyone know of any other DX7 / DX7II editors ? And are the DX7 and DX7II editors the same and the patches fully interchange-able? ______________________________________________________________ Gratis e-mail en meer: ilse weet nu ook alles van muziek! |
