In short, no. We have no list owner, because their account went tits up, so
there is absolutely no way to stop the spammers unless you harangue Yahoo
into shutting them down or changing their policy about abandoned mailing
lists. (Which they really should do, because their current policy is both a
space hog, counterproductive, and poor customer service)

Either that, or we need someone to hijack the former owner's account so we
can briefly reset people who actually post her to list owner, (several so
that this doesn't happen again) or find the former list owner and get him to
do it, which is far more legal, and get this group back on track.

Some spam filtering on your end is the only other option. I know it sucks,
but this is life with Yahoo.
