My name is Adam. I've recently gotten hold of a Yamaha TX816. Its
basically a rackmount FM machine that has up to 8 DX7 quivalent
modules inside it. They are known as TF1 modules. My one has 4 of
these TF1 modules. Each one can be detuned for chorusing effects
between the modules. Its quite a rich sounding monster!
Not having had any experience with FM programming I've actually set
up another list, before coming across the DX list. However it differs
to this one as it is not specifically aimed at any one synth or
manufacturer, but encompasses all machines that are capable of
generating FM timbres. It is intended as a support base for anyone
who programs FM sounds, regardless of what equipment they are using
to acheive this. We have recently been holding a fascinating
discussion with one member who is designing his own 6 operator
analogue FM synth. My main aim with the list was basically to learn
how to program FM!

This list seems like a valuable resource for owners of Yamaha FM
synths. If I get into any tricky situations with my TX I'll probably
be harrassing you all here for help!!
