DX1 and DX5 are just only rare collectors items.
According to Yamaha FM technology, there are NO advantages vs. a
DX7mkII(FD).
The DA converters are different, which has impact on sound,- if YOU
consider this to be an "advantage".
Poly AT is a nice feature,- WHEN you can really play a keyboard
instrument and PRACTISED using polyphonic aftertouch.
If you didn?t up to now,- be prepared for a learning curve.

Today I noticed a listing of a Yamaha DX1 on Ebay for the
bewildering price of AUD$213,084.39. A two followed by FIVE
zeroes.
Is the polyphonic aftertouch a justification for such a
whopping price?
What other advantages have the DX1 over, say, the DX7IIFD??
Easy editing? You could use the CX5M's DX7 editor cartridge on
the cheap.
