Hi all - I posted about this a few years ago, failed to find what I was looking for, and thought I'd come back to it after there were some new developments. I'm not sure if there have been any new developments though..
I used to have the original DX7 - I could copy the patches onto my computer and I could design new patches on my computer and upload them to the DX7, over MIDI, using Dexed.
Now, I've updated to the DX7-ii-FD and it seems that Dexed can't handle DX7ii patches.
To make matters worse, I'm on Mac OSX - and it seems like a lot of the SysEx editing software out there is for Windows.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could use to do this kind of work now?
Geoff
Having looked further into the issue?with JSynthLib that you reported, it would seem that the legacy Java SE 6 runtime (Java for OS X 2017-001) is an absolute requirement on OS X 10.15.x. You can get that from
As Andy has previously mentioned: for this to work, the application bundle labeled version 1.0 from
must be used.
One more thing… in the Preferences window, ensure that the correct MIDI driver has been selected.
