Agreed.? The cost should work out to only a small amount per member,
but we need to find a way to donate to the cause while making sure
that you retain the bulk of the money.? Most payment portals
(PayPal, Square, etc.) take 2-4% of the transaction, but they also
take a fixed fee, generally $0.30-0.35USD per transaction.? So, if
we were to say, "Everyone send a dollar to the cause," the card
merchant would likely keep a third of that.? Great for them, not so
much for the beneficiary.? They sometimes make exceptions for
donations, but that's if the cause is a bonified charity.? Sadly, I
don't think a synthesizer knowledge base qualifies.
That said, $110USD isn't a lot of money to raise.? I certainly would
be willing to contribute say, $10-15 to the cause, which would make
the transaction fees a little less painful.? If 5-10 others chime
in, we're good.
Does anyone know of an alternative way to donate?

-BW

?
Yes, I did have to pay that.
If it all goes well I'll be begging for the slightest
voluntary financial donation :-)
But this group needs to stay alive IMHO.
Too many ppl. and regular newcomers rely on the vast
amount of knowledge stored here.
