Thanks for sharing with me. I figure people would laugh at the simple old cassette days but I'm glad there's a way. I'm using a Boss BR1600 for recording. Very nice machine for the price. Takes a while to beat the learning curve though. Thanks again !!!

If you have a sound card with a game port then you can buy a game-port-to-MIDI cable, then in Jsynthlib select the "MPU401 Out" MIDI output port.? If not you will have to buy a USB-to-MIDI interface.
