Hi! My name is Harvey Hahn, I'm 73, and I'm a Yamaha synth fan. I have two TG-77 rack modules, an EX5R rack module, an EX5 keyboard synthesizer, a Motif ES7 keyboard synthesizer, and a Motif XS rack module, all of which use different technologies. The advantage of my Motif ES (even over the newer XF+ models, which I haven't pursued at this point) is that it permits plug-ins of older Yamaha synth technologies--I have the VL, AN, DX, XG, VH, and the very rare SG plug-ins. The latter is, I think, the predecessor of the FS1R, which, of course, I also have. Unfortunately, although I have a wide variety of Yamaha equipment, I hardly use anything currently other than the Motif ES. (This is primarily because of having many interests yet not as much time as I wish I had.) I'm a member of this group because I want to learn better the features of, and how to use, the FS1R. Some of the available online materials are very good, and in this group I can learn more, I hope. As a classically trained musician and composer, I find that the FS1R has some aspects that are particularly interesting to me, not only in human vocal terms but also with respect to the sounds of organ pipes. After more than 50 years playing pipe organs for churches, I'm currently pursuing the development of virtual pipe organs (VPOs) so that I can continue to play "pipe organs" for enjoyment in my new home with one of my daughters. Perhaps the FS1R can give me some great assistance in modifying the sounds of organ pipes that I have recorded. At this point in my life, this is all terra incognita. I hope it all turns out for the best! (I've been a member of the Yahoo Groups version of this group for several years, so this is a "new start", so to speak.)
