The original FT-897 CAT/Tuner control cable pins are 1-1, 2-2, etc
also the metal shield or metal ring on the connector has continuity
end to end.

I am told that a MAC cable will not work as the connections do
not go 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 so test before you plug it into the radio.
