Commander from dx suites

Has anyone here used dx commander and dx suites as well as WSJTX With the 847? I also have an icom ic 7300 and love the way it integrates. If it works as well with the 847 I will set that up also moatly
for vhf/uhf logging.

Please forgive me about typos. I am only on my
first cup of coffee and my thumbs cover about six keys on my phones keyboard.
Thanks ahead of time

I, too, will be interested in how well you make?out, Gerry. I have?a Windows 10 laptop?that I was originally going to deploy for rig control - especially with satellite/doppler frequency control - but I cannot seem to get a USB-to-Serial adapter working yet to achieve CAT on my new (to-me) FT-847. I am a victim of the Windows 10 update saga where drivers get replaced and hardware assignments get changed, and now I'm thinking?of just implementing a RaspberryPi and going to RigPi or another control suite.
?
So if you get success and are running Windows 10, please share how you got there.
?
Thanks and 73

I use Commander on my 847 and several other programs in the DXLabs Suite as well.? Works very well but as you know it's pretty limited as to what it can do.

Brent have you had CAT writing before on the 847? Is your cable a null cable or one with a null adapter?

Brent

If you go RTSystems, they have a USB to Serial as a null modem. It costs USD$30.

That what I am using on my 847. You can also get the programming software from them as well.

Enjoy

Sandor what are the limitations or should I ask what can be done with this radio? I haven’t done anything with it other than packet in years.

Hi Sandor,

I received the port adapter and also the cable from the vendor of the radio, who reports he had it working before he mailed it to me.

I believe, since it was functional, it must be a null modem cable.

Thanks

Gerald,?
DxLab's can control the freq, volume, and a couple other things and that's about it.? If you do some digging there is a free version of HRD (v5.24) floating around that WILL do SAT Mode and just about everything else.

I have the cable from RT systems to program and read the radio but I can not get HRD to connect to it. I was also unable to get DX labs to hook up either. Has to be something in the settings on the radio.
