Null cable

I see several suggestions to buy the RT Systems cable at 30.00.? I also see null cables for between 20.00 and 50.00 but I found an adapter for 3.00.? I had several FTDI cables so I couldn't see spending that extra money.? Fleabay has null cable adapters for 3.00 with free shipping. They are plainly marked on the cases NULL so they don't get mixed up with your gender changers for your Kenwood radios.

Re: Commander from dx suites

I have the cable from RT systems to program and read the radio but I can not get HRD to connect to it. I was also unable to get DX labs to hook up either. Has to be something in the settings on the radio.

Re: Commander from dx suites

Gerald,?
DxLab's can control the freq, volume, and a couple other things and that's about it.? If you do some digging there is a free version of HRD (v5.24) floating around that WILL do SAT Mode and just about everything else.

If you go RTSystems, they have a USB to Serial as a null modem. It costs USD$30.

That what I am using on my 847. You can also get the programming software from them as well.

Enjoy

Re: Commander from dx suites

Hi Sandor,

I received the port adapter and also the cable from the vendor of the radio, who reports he had it working before he mailed it to me.

I believe, since it was functional, it must be a null modem cable.

Thanks

Commander from dx suites

Has anyone here used dx commander and dx suites as well as WSJTX With the 847? I also have an icom ic 7300 and love the way it integrates. If it works as well with the 847 I will set that up also moatly
for vhf/uhf logging.

Please forgive me about typos. I am only on my
first cup of coffee and my thumbs cover about six keys on my phones keyboard.
Thanks ahead of time

Ft847 with WSJTX and dx commander

Has anyone here set up and ft847 with WSJTX and dx commander? If so how well does it work rig control and logging?

Re: Legible FT-847 Circuit diagram

I've lost the original manuals and the circuit diagram. However, "FT-847_Schematic.pdf" provided by VE3FFR is excellent, and all I need for now.

I need a legible circuit diagram because there is a problem with my FT-847 transceiver: Low RX Sensitivity on 144 MHz. I'll share with the group if I can solve the problem.

Re: Legible FT-847 Circuit diagram

I have an FT847 and I expect the circuit diagrams. I can (when I locate them) scan them. Why would you need them? Have you lost yours? i will not look for them unnecessarily. I am not even sure they are there.

Re: Legible FT-847 Circuit diagram

I do have the service manual PDF. But the circuit diagram is difficult to read, especially component names and values. 73 OZ1BXM

Re: Legible FT-847 Circuit diagram

The attached circuit diagram from VE3FFR is the best I've seen so far. Thank you. Now I can read component names and order spare parts. 73 OZ1BXM?
