Re: My internal keyer isn't working

Hi Nils and welcome to the group.? I hope you are able to restore that fine radio.? However, with lighting strikes it could be just a fuse or it could lead to a whole lot of replacement parts needed.? Just depends on how much damage there is.? Good luck with it though and keep us in the loop as to your finding.

Hi guys,
I'm restoring an old FT-847 damaged by lightning a lot of years ago and had been lying in the schack collecting dust, according to the previous owner.
After replacing the main CPU on the AF/CNTRL board the radio woke up from it's Cinderella sleep and the most things are ok now except the internal keyer.
I have also replaced the one-chip microprocessor MB8854-1244M which in fact is the keyer.
It is impossible to key the transmitter in CW-mode, nothing happens when I try.
I have run out of ideas and if someone has any suggestions please share them with me.
