When I first got my 847 I was using a 20 amp power supply. My radio kept shutting down unless I turned the power down. Couldn't figure out what was wrong until it dawned on me that the rig needed more power. I hadn't even bothered?to check the manual because I had used the other power?supply for years with lots of different rigs.? ?
Here is what the specs on the 847 say:?Transmit: 22A @ 100W RF Output
So... it may work as the KPS-15 is rated for 25 amps. 20 amps wasn't enough for mine. If it shuts off on transmit turn the power down and if things are fine it wants more power.
