I need to replace a 50pin .5mm pitch ribbon that goes to the display head .... I melted it while doing a mars/cap mod ... darn? uninsulated soldering iron ... my bad, I couldn't find my good Weller tool....
I found a suitable flat cable replacement for the head to main unit. I accidentally damaged mine during a mars/cap mod ... I band-aid the original but was not happy?with it ...?

I hit a snag .. the amplifier?module board suffered a bad relay and i couldn't?find the originals sold on ebay anymore, but i did find some that were surface mount and were smaller. A problem was soon found after they arrived. Even though they were manufactured by the same company, they did not have the same mounting points. That is going to be a problem because?i now need to drill and tap new 4-40 bolt holes.
I hope to soon be done. I now have a bit more support at home with my projects .. My wife recently passed her Technicians exam and has a new KK call ... KK7AIF.
